I agree with Hamilton Conservation Authority’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. I do not believe one central Conservation Authority has the local knowledge required to for local governance. Read more

I do not support the merging of multiple conservation areas and wish for Hamilton Conservation Authority to remain its own entity. I believe local people should be making decisions on the land. Read more

I think the proposal to merge conservation area authorities is premature. Key details remain unknown: Governance, costs, timing, staffing, land management, branding, and community impact have not been explained, which leaves the potential effects of the merger uncertain. Read more

The Conservation area boundaries are sufficient and being well managed as they are. Any changes to the status quo risks significant damage to watersheds, wildlife habitat and communities within the jurisdiction. Please leave the system we currently have in place

Thank you for the opportunity to provide input. I find it very frustrating that service delivery and fees vary across various jurisdictions. It creates discord between CAs, municipalities and the public. Read more

It is disturbing why the Ontario government insists on meddling with the conservation authorities, especially in light of the past problems in doing so. I strongly disagree with the proposal and believe it is important to keep conservation authorities local. Read more

I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. In my opinion, it is never a good idea to move decisions to an authority that does not have a stake in the outcomes of their decisions. Read more
