I do not support this legislation. It is misguided, and both fiscally and environmentally irresponsible. The Government of Ontario must act to address the very real threat of climate change. Lire davantage

It is a big mistake to cancel the carbon tax. Ontario needs a carbon tax, perhaps you should look at "fee and dividend" as a more fair way to help us save ourselves. Climate change is here, don't act like it's a debate. Lire davantage

Carbon pollution is currently very cheap - why wouldn't companies just continue pumping it out? We've externalized the cost of pollution for too long. If you want to pollute, you should pay to do so. Please make carbon emitters pay their fair share. Incentivize clean jobs and smart transit. Lire davantage

The cancellation of cap and trade is going to open up Ontario to lawsuits by companies that have purchased credits under this regime in good faith that will ultimately have to be challenged or settled and in both cases are going to cost the tax payer money. Lire davantage

Patrick Brown was pro-carbon tax and would have been elected. The current government does not have a mandate to stall climate action or spend taxpayer dollars on dead-end lawsuits against the federal government's authority to impose a carbon tax. Lire davantage

The decision to pull out of the cap and trade program is short sighted, misguided, foolish, lacks any semblance of a plan to replace it, and the government has virtually no science, or evidence, to support their stance. Lire davantage

I don't agree with your policy. Simply put, if there is no carbon pricing then there is no reduction in carbon emissions. It appears to me you, the Ontario government, are trying to stall or stymie Ontario's efforts to lower global warming.

I do not agree with Bill 4 and I believe it is a step in the wrong direction. Canada, along with 180 other countries have set out a GHG reduction target of 80% by the year 2050. Lire davantage

I am very happy that the government has taken the approach that a cap and trade tax would not positively affect the environment. I would be much happier if the government did actual things to improve greenhouse gas emissions. Lire davantage

I am a strong supporter of the cap and trade system. I was very pleased when Ontario joined with Quebec and California to create a market and extremely disappointed when the new government under Ford brought in legislation to kill it. Lire davantage

I support the cancellation completely, we already live in one of the cleanest countries on earth here in Canada, we've already spent billions cleaning up to this level, let the dirty second and third world Countries on the planet clean up to our standards before burdening me with any more expense. I work outside in all the elements, all year long and I feel and see the weather becoming more and more extreme. I don't see the logic in the cancellation of cap and trade when it's apparent that we need to curb our reliance on fossil fuels and improve the efficiency of our homes and cars. Lire davantage

Hi there not sure why this was just stopped and not properly reviewed and ensured that downstream impact is fully assessed. I don’t support this decision and I hope this bill is put back on for the better Ontario and greener Canada Thanks

This is a terrible idea, and takes Ontario backwards when we should be trying to be a leader in fighting Climate Change. Eliminating the incentives for electric cars, adding solar to homes etc, make it too expensive for most Ontarians to make the changes they want to do. Lire davantage
