This makes zero sense when thinking about protecting our environment. Why would we exempt a business from reporting if they've changed their practice and are now meeting the thresholds? Sorry, but you are exceeding thresholds and need to be accountable for this! Lire davantage

I have sympathy with the goal of reducing the duplication of regulations between the provincial and the federal governments. I would suggest that we need to have a robust program in place to identify and reduce toxic substances. Lire davantage

Reductions in Ontario paperwork, does not necessarily mean that Federal inspections and paperwork will cover exactly the same things. I shudder when I see this kind of regulation change over toxic substances, and many have said that lax inspection and rules led to problems like Walkerton.

The Ontario Toxics Reduction Act 2009 was enacted to provide more direct accountability by facilities that use or create toxic substances and is a valuable regulatory enrichment to the federal Chemicals Management Plan. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my strong opposition to Bill 66 for a number of reasons. I might also add that the guile and haste with which it was introduced and then giving such a brief opportunity for submissions, is very objectionable. Lire davantage
