I am NOT IN FAVOUR of having the Far North Act repealed. You could retain the Far North Act and have timelines associated with the advanced stage community-based land use planning of Dec. 2020, and outline timelines for planning with other Far North FN communities.

Great! This will create jobs and revenue for the communities in the north as well as the government. Our Natural resources have been shut down by the liberals for far to long! Red tape and activists have ruled!

The Far North act was originally contemplated to be a planning framework for land use and land development up north, but it has too turned into a bureaucratic nightmare and has stifled economic development in Northern Ontario for over 9 years.

This proposal is completely irresponsible and shameful. Ecosystems in the Far North are vulnerable because of human decisions to burn fossil fuels. Allowing uncontrolled development in the Far North would make these ecosystems even more vulnerable than they already are.

Just make sure you include consulting with First Nations and any residents within the Act. I'm sure doing this with communities and business working together the outcome can be a positive one for the area, environment, the First Nations and residents and the rest of Canada.

Please do not revoke this act, we know you many not care for us in northern Ontario but this is really a stab in the chest. We and other northern communities rely on help from you folks in queens park and this just makes us distrust your party more and then some.

Ontario's North is home to part of Canada's boreal forest where many people work and play. Its trees and wetlands care for our environment and provide for our communities.

This is a difficult issue as the First Nations community should be able to use this land freely and grow economically without the constraints of an act that perhaps was implemented without enough planning and input from First Nations groups.

No matter what the outcome to the Far North Act, I strongly believe that communities, First Nation communities and the people should be able to decide what is best for themselves and choose land use resources that benefit their communities, Ontario and Canada.

This act needs to go but MNRF needs to manage treaty nine ina distinct way and consider shared decision making with it inhabitants. A far north approval board? Why not make it it own MNRF region or district?

I feel the Indigenous have never been properly heard by the government and been treated fairly.
I feel the Ford government with this proposal will diminish even more rights and considerations from the Indigenous by promoting the "open for business" concept.
