Instead of destroying the greenbelt, the province can address the significant number of properties that are currently vacant - empty office spaces downtown Toronto can be repurposed and turned into low income housing. We can also address the 1.3 million Canadian homes that are sitting empty. Lire davantage

This is an abhorrent idea. The Greenbelt needs to be protected, and the Conservation act was put in place out of a necessity to prevent these very acts. If the Greenbelt were to be developed, those developed areas would experience terrible floods. Lire davantage

The idea that development of the green belt is anything other than just a short term economic gain for a handful of developers and not a huge threat to ecological stability for years and years to come is laughable. Lire davantage

You're going to ruin our environment with the way you keep going. First the highway and now mansions? There are species that depend on those areas to live. What would help the population so much more is increasing public housing in any empty warehouse. People need somewhere to live. Lire davantage

As a citizen of Ontario as well as a registered voter I want to ensure that my local and provincial representatives know that I am against the proposed amendments to the Ontario green belt. Lire davantage

The Greenbelt is part of what makes Ontario, Ontario. Not only does it give families a place to go in each season to escape city/suburban life and see Ontario’s natural beauty; but it is also an important tourist attraction. Lire davantage

I’m opposed to the development of the green belt: - That greenbelt protects us from apocalyptic flooding - the greenbelt it's composed of moraines, ecologically fragile/significant spaces - concentrate housing in areas with the infrastructure to support new residents Lire davantage

I dissent this decision to open the green belt for development. This is vital space for wildlife, farming, and the ecosystem. There is greater opportunity to reimagine spaces in the Toronto downtown core with vacant office buildings that can be transformed into high density low income housing. Lire davantage

The Greenbelt cannot be recreated. Destroying it to provide space for more over priced vacation homes isn’t a necessary move. Affordable housing close to public transit is necessary. Not this.

Destroying what little green space southern Ontario has for more housing is not what is needed to solve the housing crisis. Re-utilizing empty office space to meet demands. As well as limits on the purchase of housing solely for the purpose of renting it out.

I am against any development in the greenbelt. This area should be protected, and changes to those protections non-negotiable. There is plenty of alternatives to using the greenbelt, most notably redesigning/rezoning cities for better vertical development. Lire davantage

As an Ontario resident, I am vehemently opposed to removing this important protected zone. We need to be building up rather than continuing to sprawl outwards. This will not fix housing prices, in the same way adding a new lane to the 401 every other year doesn’t reduce traffic. Lire davantage

As a resident of Ajax, Ontario, I do NOT want these precious lands to be developed. Over the 10 years that I have lived in south east Ajax, I have witnessed more and more displaced animals running amok. I have heard the worries of residents, concerned about flooding. Lire davantage

This is such a waste of time and should not go through considering it is wetlands and protected lands!!!! Climate change will flood these properties! Leave them alone!!!! Maybe start focusing energy on the health care system that is collapsing !
