Please reconsider using the greenbelt for houses. Losing our biodiversity and green land to habitat fragmentation will only contribute to climate change and pollution/poor environmental and human health, especially around the big cities.

Science, not greed should be the most important barometer for our leaders. The environment is at a tipping point and Ontario’s leadership is ignoring the science. Lire davantage

This whole bill is trash. You can't just swap areas of the Greenbelt and say samey-samey. The Greenbelt is an extensive ecosystem that can't be protected in bits and pieces. This is NOT what you ran on. This is NOT what citizens want. This will NOT solve the housing crisis. Lire davantage

The Ontario government plan to change over vast areas of the Greenbelt is flawed and inappropriate in several ways: 1. The Greenbelt is a region protected through Ontario Law. 2. Once developed, such diverse environments will not be recreated. Lire davantage

Removing protections on Greenbelt lands to fatten the pockets of the Premier's developer buddies sounds like a sick joke from a bad parody movie. You should not under any circumstances make amendments to the Greenbelt Act to open up protected land to build housing. Lire davantage

I am not in agreement with this proposal. I have been an Ontario resident all my life and don't believe that tearing down parts of the Greenbelt will solve any of our housing problems. In fact, it will create a new set of problems. Lire davantage

I oppose to this proposal. This is pure corruption, and these lands should be protected. There are tens of thousands of acres of designated residential lands in Ontario. Lire davantage

We have quite enough land to develop without using the green belt. And two programmes have indicated that of the proposed housing plans only 5% will be affordable housing. Lire davantage

I do not support the government’s proposed changes to the Greenbelt to build housing faster and in a targeted manner. There is no need to remove land from the greenbelt where so much land already exists and can be made better use of. Lire davantage

Do not get rid of valuable farmland/wetlands! These are an important part of our natural environment in Ontario. Just because major PC donors own the land, doesn’t mean that it should be destroyed. Lire davantage

I urge you to not do this. There are much better ways to increase the stock of affordable housing. Building on Greenbelt protected land is entirely wrongheaded and creates the impression of a strategy initiated purely by cronyism. Please rethink the idea. Lire davantage

I realize we need more housing, but are you looking at affordable housing or pricey large lot homes, that are for the few? Also the Greenbelt was for us to appreciate not decimate. Lire davantage

This is a very bad idea with many consequences if allowed to happen as proposed. There is nothing in this bill that ensure ensure the housing that is built will actually be affordable. Lire davantage

I worked on the creation of the Greenbelt and the Greenbelt Act back in 2003. All of the land that was included in the Greenbelt was carefully considered and the inclusion was the result of consultation with farmers, scientists, developers and Ontarians. Lire davantage

As a lifelong Progressive Conservative voter who grew up on a farm, I find this proposal very troubling. Conservatives have always been leaders in the area of conservation to protect our rural Ontario way of life: farming, fishing, hunting, etc. These are all at risk if we open up the greenbelt.
