I do NOT condone any part of this. Protect our Greenbelt. There are MANY other options to increase housing in equitable and fair ways that doesn’t involve slashing our food producing and environmental areas. Walk. It. back.

Despite the fact that we critically need affordable homes (not spacious suburban “luxury” homes), we also need arable land in close proximity to large populations. The selling of this land for development is short sighted and serves a select few who stand to benefit.

This land should be protected as there are many other options in urban planning. Very fishy that lands have been bought up by developers prior to this bill. Please save the farmland. Don’t build multi million dollar properties. Honour your words Doug. Not your friends pocketbooks.

Please do not develop the green belt. As a citizen of Ontario I do NOT want anymore sprawl, I want our arable land and ecosystems to be protected and not developed for profit. Doug Ford went back on his promise to NOT develop the green belt. Lire davantage

As a concerned citizen of Ontario and Hamilton resident, I am strongly against the Provincial Government's Proposed Amendments to the Greenbelt Plan. On February 28, 2005, the Greenbelt Act protected 2 million acres of prime agricultural and ecologically sensitive lands from urban development. Lire davantage

I do not support this, as it will only make it easier for private developers to push for urban sprawl, alongside the obvious devastation to our immediate surrounding greenspaces and agricultural land. Lire davantage

What did the environment do to Doug Ford. It allows him to breath to have a cottage to be part of a community. Why take that from others. The future of Ontario and the greenbelt is why people and families want to live in Ontario. Lire davantage

This proposal is completely unnecessary and not worth the negative environmental impacts. The government and municipalities have already earmarked enough land for development without opening up the green belt. This was also an election promise that the green belt would not be touched. This plan is incredibly short sighted and will not provide affordable housing for the folks that need it and will jeopardize the biodiversity of the GTHA. The government is redesignating lands that were protected for a reason in order to benefit their developer friends. Lire davantage

What is the justification for removal of Greenbelt in Courtice -Clarington by Nash Road Development by Tannenbaum when we know that this area is not a suitable area for the proposed development? Documents: Lire davantage

I am wondering where the provincial and federal public documents regarding an Environmental Assessment (EA) and Impact Assessment (IA) are and what companies have been hired to consult and sit in on the meetings regarding the industrialization of critical habitat. Lire davantage

I am completely opposed to bill 23 and its proposed changes to the existing green belt. Doug ford promised to not touch the green belt. This is a significant step back to dealing with the ever prominent climate crisis issues we are dealing with. Lire davantage

Somehow, you, Premier Ford, must reverse these destructive, undemocratic laws forcing expansion of housing into farmland and destroying what is left of natural woodlands by building a super highway instead of bolstering public transit and increasing housing within existing city boundaries. We should be aggresively expanding our protected lands, and never EVER taking away that protection status. I understand there is a housing crisis. I also understand that there is 10's of Billions of dollars to be made. Why would this money go into the pockets of developers? Lire davantage

Please don't do this. There is a desperate need for housing solutions that do not contribute to urban sprawl - densification is key. This is an unsustainable plan that will cause irreversible harm to our great province.
