Despite the fact that we critically need affordable homes (not spacious suburban “luxury” homes), we also need arable land in close proximity to large populations. The selling of this land for development is short sighted and serves a select few who stand to benefit.

This land should be protected as there are many other options in urban planning. Very fishy that lands have been bought up by developers prior to this bill. Please save the farmland. Don’t build multi million dollar properties. Honour your words Doug. Not your friends pocketbooks.

This proposal is completely unnecessary and not worth the negative environmental impacts. The government and municipalities have already earmarked enough land for development without opening up the green belt. This was also an election promise that the green belt would not be touched. Please don't do this. There is a desperate need for housing solutions that do not contribute to urban sprawl - densification is key. This is an unsustainable plan that will cause irreversible harm to our great province.
