As a road association that depends on recycling and waste pick up to be subsidized during the winter months, as well as end of driveway pick up in the summer months, we understand that the recycling program may be altered in a manner that would not be condusive the expanding recycling to the benefit Lire davantage

Absolutely ridiculous. These proposals are just delays. I personally reject all claims that these changes would be beneficial, other than to a producers bottom line. I demand that these proposed changes be dismissed.

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) which comes into effect in 2026 is supposed to build an accountable system for managing our waste. Our society creates way too much waste, thanks to Producers and Industy. Lire davantage

I am a resident of Ontario who has followed the proposal to allow waste to be incinerated. I strongly oppose this due to the health risks involved for those who live nearby the incinerator. There is no science to suggest that this process is safe to the residents nearby. Lire davantage

After reading the proposal, it would seem as though "delay" and "removal" of important waste-reduction measures are the goal. Five years or never is a long time to postpone what has already been put off or ignored for decades. Lire davantage

I understand that industry cannot change as quickly as needed. However, the proposed changes do not satisfactorily address the urgent nature of the climate catastrophe that is approaching. Lire davantage

It's VERY BAD IDEA to allow burning of recyclable materials, even if it's only a small percentage. Ontarians, especially in areas with many industrial buildings, are suffering from poor air quality. And we all are seeing effects of climate change every year. Lire davantage

Please do not allow this change to go through. Burning waste is not a solution! From our experience, the restrictions around burning garbage in a “clean” way are not monitored in a consistent way, which puts the health of our communities at risk. The real solution is creating less waste. Lire davantage

EPR will hold companies accountable, encourage packaging innovation, and help Ontario move toward a circular economy. EPR regulations should go into effect in 2026, as planned, and should NOT be postponed until 2031. Lire davantage
