There are many aspects of this bill which are clearly going to lead to destruction of sensitive habitats so that developers can make money. It must be stopped. Our system of nature is worth FAR more to our lives than rich developers are. Lire davantage

I am VERY disappointed that our provincial government has produced a bill as toxic as Bill 5. It has no redeeming features, is anti-democratic, anti-environment, but strongly pro putting billions of dollars into developers' pockets. This is NOT what Ontarians want or need.

Mr Ford, your decision to create special economic zones is wrong. There are reasons to promote growth but not at the expense of endangered species and nature habitats. There is another way to build and promote growth. Lire davantage

You must stop bill 5. It is incredibly short sighted. What politicians think of as “red tape” are actually regulations that protect people and the environment. We must protect those protections for the health of the people and environment, from which we are not separate. Lire davantage

Schedule 9 in Bill 5 is undemocratic. It would allow the premier and cabinet to decide which provincial and municipal laws would apply to “special economic zones”, the geographic extent of the law’s applicability, and even the specific individuals and companies to which the law applies. This proposal is a bad idea for the environment and an overreach that takes away any due process and regulations. Doug Ford should not have the ability to build wherever he wants without regulations.

I strongly oppose the proposed Special Economic Zones Act, 2025. While economic development is important, it must not come at the expense of Ontario’s environment, biodiversity, and long-term sustainability. Lire davantage

I am against this proposal of a Special Economic Zone Act. It will grant a “lawless” zone where any relevant provincial or municipal laws can be circumvented by the Ontario legislature if they deem it to be limiting and standing in the way. Lire davantage
