As someone who lives on and uses Lake Scugog regularly, and notices how problematic low water on the lake already is at certain times of year, I have severe concerns about how ill informed this potential permit is, and worry that it will further exacerbate existing problems with the lake, including Lire davantage

I would have an objection to water being drawn out of lake scugog due to the fact we have had several years of low lake levels already and the extraction of water may hurt the existing ecosystem in the lake.

Absolutely not. Lake scugog has surrounding fish sanctuaries that would be impacted from draught in the summer when rain is low. The walleye is a closed season fish due to the health of the lake. Why make that worse for the fish? Lire davantage

I say no to this proposal as it will heavily affect our waterways. My home lake, lake scugog is one such listed waterway and already experiences low water levels every summer. This proposal will cause those water levels to go even lower drastically and harming the local wildlife and population. Lire davantage

As a full time resident residing on the lake, I feel strongly against the removal of lake water. The amount of water that the lake is down by the end of the summer, it's already a huge amount. Between the locks opening and closing, evaporation etc. Lire davantage

I am extremely concerned about this application to obtain so much water when there is clearly an issue within several locations in Ontario regarding water shortages. So much so that the Government of Ontario created the Ontario Low Water Program to investigate this issue further. Lire davantage

This is a lot of water We live in one of the areas mentioned and everyone is on wells They are often low currently due to low water levels Losing more water will affect a lot of households I believe most of the other areas also run on well water Lire davantage

As a resident and homeowner on Scugog, I have concern that this corporation will be taking this water for pennies to turn a profit without any consideration to the lake conservation. I live on lake scugog. The water levels are already unstable. I do not support this application and deal it will drain the lake of precious water supply and have a negative impact on the wildlife who rely on this resource. Please do not approve this application. Lire davantage
