Keep the bike lanes and add to them by building out the network. Active transportation reduces emissions and congestion. Fewer cars on the road make space for those who really need to drive. Fewer cars means less requirement for car storage on the street, which is a misuse of public space. Lire davantage

This is a massive over reaction by the provincial government. It completely bypasses the will and desires of the people who live in the communities with any bike lines that may be removed, and is very un-democratic. Lire davantage

The stated, abstract objective of this Act is to reduce “gridlock,” using means which are proven to be detrimental to public health and safety, mobility and access to Ontario communities for all people, environmental protection, and will aid in worsening the ongoing climate emergency. Horribly disappointing that you would propose removing bike lanes that enable safe, affordable, environmentally friendly and healthy transportation. All to be replaced with more cars that pollute and encourage inactivity. Just totally backwards and embarrassing. Lire davantage

The provincial government shouldn’t have power over bike lanes in the city, especially when the provincial government doesn’t look at available researches that have repeatedly shown that adding bike lanes is better for everyone, and adding vehicle lanes doesn’t help congestion, it only invites more Lire davantage

Ontarians do not want another highway. We do not want a highway that plows through valuable Greenbelt land and important species of animals that are at risk. We do not want environmental assessments to be expedited or ignored. Lire davantage

I can’t see why this isn’t an overreach of provincial power, also not going to solve anything in Toronto where I drive and bike. Lire davantage

This proposal is an assault on cyclists' comfort, safety, and mobility and is a complete waste of taxpayers' money to push the Premier's agenda to win votes from motorists. The Province has absolutely no authority to micromanage muncipalities' uses of their own roadways. Lire davantage

Bike lanes in Toronto are vital and I'd also say in most urban areas. Cities and municipalities should have autonomy.

Removing bike lanes is not helping gridlock, and infact will put more people in danger. Cars are not in traffic, they are the traffic. All citizens deserve safe commuting options on our streets.

I use the bike lanes in Toronto to get to work every day. The city needs more not less. They provide a safe way for me to get around the city. Without them I will be forced onto the roads with cars. This will in turn create more traffic, not less. Cars will stuck behind me. Lire davantage

We need to be encouraging bike lanes and transit that doesn't rely on inefficient personal ownership of cars and trucks. Bike lanes make it more viable to forego automobile ownership and ride a bike where you need to go, especially in an urban environment as dense as Toronto. Lire davantage

Bill 212 is foolish, reactionary, and will be ineffective at improving mobility in urban areas.

Horrible bill and initiative. The province is falling apart and you’re actively trying to make it worse. Do your jobs properly.

Terrible proposal. Cyclists just want to get to their jobs and do their shopping safely, directly, without dying. Stop blaming cyclists for traffic congestion when the fault is generations of under-investment in buses and trains!! Lire davantage

Such terrible legislation and micromanaging our city. Let Toronto govern Toronto and decide what is best for the people who live, work, and play in this city. It's not about a "war on cars". It is about keeping people safe.

I don't believe the provincial government should be restricting how municipalities make bike lanes as described in the bill. This feels like an overstep of their authority. Lire davantage
