This is outrageous. The Province should absolutely not remove these existing bike lanes and should be supporting, rather than hindering, the development of more cycling infrastructure. The research on transportation demand management is clear: more lanes of traffic does not reduce congestion. Lire davantage

"We have to do everything we can to make sure there’s never a death in the city. One death is way too many when it comes to bicycle riders. We have to make sure that they’re safe....You’re nervous when there’s no bike lanes. At least I was,” - Doug Ford, 2017 Lire davantage

This is a ridiculous overstep into municipal authority. As a resident of Niagara, it's offensive how much time the government wastes meddling in the municipal affairs of Toronto when there are pressing issues that need to be addressed elsewhere in Ontario. Lire davantage

Whether or not a town has bike lanes should be a municipal affair, not provincial!

Trying to control city bike lanes directly is major overreach for the province. It is micromanagement which will cost us all more. Lire davantage

I cycle to work daily. I rely on bike lanes on Bloor Street to arrive at work and return home safely. On weekends, I use various bike lanes with my active 8 year old to safely navigate the city. Lire davantage

It's been proven time and time again that more car lanes only means more cars which equals more time spent waiting in traffic. Every bicycle user is one less car on the road. Lire davantage

This is a truly disastrous policy choice. Look at cities around the world that are diversifying their transportation options with more efficient solutions. Cities that started years ago and cities that have started just recently. All successes. Lire davantage

The other day I saw a young boy biking safely in a Bloor bike lane and I realized how sad it is that the government wants to take the freedom and joy out of travel for people, especially youth who already have limited options to travel on their own. Lire davantage

Bike lanes on Bloor are the reason I stopped driving to work every day and ride my bike instead. The amount of traffic that will be created by tearing out bike lanes that are less than 5 years old is ridiculous. It will make the problem way worse. Lire davantage

Please DO NOT remove those bike lanes. Those lanes are keeping people safe and reducing traffic on the roads. I will not be supporting any bills that will end up killing cyclists. Please stop the government overreach.

This is an outrageous idea. As a pedestrian and driver, I'll admit that I strongly dislike congestion and contending with cyclists. Lire davantage

Last weekend, my husband and I drove up to our cottage in Muskoka. The traffic congestion on Dundas West, Caledonia, Black Creek Drive and the 400 was astounding. I look forward to the removal of those routes bike lanes. Wait - there aren't bike lanes on any of those streets/highways. Lire davantage

This government needs to give their head a shake, and let the city of toronto make it's own decisions. We didn't vote Doug in as mayor for a reason years ago, and this just seems like another bitter power grab wasting tax payer money. Keep the bike lanes as is as they are efficent modes of travel.
