If doug ford was interested in downtown Toronto traffic, he would have not changed the subway relief line for the new Ontario line. Lire davantage

Do not remove any bike lanes, I and my voting partner are opposed to this idea, it put people in danger and is a great waste of our money. You will lose our votes at the next election.

The Ford government never lets good policy get in the way of a bad idea. Bike lanes support so many good policy outcomes: from REDUCING congestion to improved public health outcomes to reduced health care costs to increased economic output. We know this...you know...because of evidence. Lire davantage

The notion of reducing bike lanes runs counter to the safety of cyclists, the urgent need to reduce carbon by car use, and in particular in central Toronto areas to encourage the use of public transit. Lire davantage

I applause the action Doug Ford's government is taking on this proposal. Toronto GTA traffic is chaotic and the bike lanes play a large part where they are installed. Lire davantage

I am deeply concerned with this proposed legislation, and sincerely hope the government reconsiders it. I’ve submitted a version of this comment before, but since there’re been new amendments to the legislation, I feel compelled to send it again. Lire davantage

I live in the Kingsway. I am absolutely delighted to hear that the bike lanes along Bloor Street will be ripped up. How anybody could think that removing a car lane would not increase congestion is beyond my ability to comprehend. Lire davantage

A bill framed like it will reduce congestion yet the plan is to actually reduce road capacity (by taking bike lanes out) makes absolutely no sense. Lire davantage

This bill will lead to unnecessary deaths and injuries of cyclists, harm businesses, hurt the environment, and do nothing to combat traffic congestion. It’s clearly political in nature and intentionally vindictive towards downtown Toronto in particular. Lire davantage

This is terrible legislation for so many reasons: it wastes money, ignores ample evidence to the contrary, ultimately makes the problem worse, and will cause people to get hurt or killed. But that's what I've come to expect from this government. Lire davantage

Housing. Health care. Not ripped up bike lanes. This is shameful and will only harm the people of Ontario

This action goes against what the people living in this city want and need. We have just finished construction on many of these bike lanes and now you want to rip them up despite the fact that they improve safety? We are in a climate crisis. Lire davantage

This is an excellent bill and it will greatly improve traffic flow in Toronto. The political process in most if not all municipalities has been hyjacked by activists to the detriment of the broader public and especially home owners and businesses. The people paying the bills. Lire davantage

As someone who lived in the GTA suburbs for half their life and the city of Toronto for the other half, I can't figure out how this legislation appeals to anyone in Ontario or those travelling within / through Toronto. Lire davantage

This is a clear overstep of provincial power and adding policy regarding City of Toronto bike lanes should not be the purview of the province. Lire davantage

This overstep into municipal affairs goes against everything that the Conservative party prides itself upon re small government staying out of citizens lives. This is extremely unpopular in my household and will likely result in all of us voting against Doug Ford in the next election.

I commute by bike to my job in a hospital in Toronto. The commute is 14km each way, the majority of which is on the Bloor and Yonge bike lines. Removing these bike lanes would put my life at risk by having to share lanes with cars. Lire davantage

The best way to ease gridlock is to have viable alternatives to driving the most important component being a robust transit system. Spending our money to remove infrastructure we already paid so you can grandstand and get a photo op won't help you in the end. Lire davantage

Since the Bloor bicycle lanes went in, Google maps almost always suggests Bloor as the fastest cross town route between Bloor west and Danforth Avenue. Before the bike lanes went in this was never a suggested route. Lire davantage
