I am against Bill 212 as bike lanes are an important part of city infrastructure. They encourage citizens to actively make healthy choices for themselves and can help relieve traffic congestion, with proper health promotion initiatives, which would be a better place to focus funding.

The province shouldn't be imposing any red tape or bureaucracy on local cities and municipalities that are trying to add transportation options like bike lanes! Lire davantage

I am a driver who lives in Toronto and I am very opposed to this plan. We need more bike lanes, not less. Bike lanes help encourage people to cycle instead of drive, which relieves congestion. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are important infastructure for day to day use. It won't help car divers by removing bike lanes. This bill would be a waste of time and money. Furthermore, If you don't want cyclists on the roads then protected bike lanes would help achieve that. This bill should not be approved. Lire davantage

As a resident in the province of Ontario, I would like to take a moment to voice my displeasure with this proposed legislation. There are several issues I would like to highlight. Lire davantage

I bike at 15km/hr. If you remove my bike lane, I will bike on the street and take the full lane, as is my legal right as a cyclist. All the cars behind me will be forced to travel at my very slow speed. So please explain to us: how is this saving drivers time again?

This is a ridiculous decision. Removing bike lanes will actually INCREASE congestion. It's obvious. Many studies have demonstrated the benefits and business along Bloor, for example, have spoken up in favour of keeping bike lanes. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the further amendment to the proposed framework for bike lanes that require removal of a traffic lane, for the following reasons: Lire davantage

Removing existing bike lanes would have a terrible impact on the neighbourhoods involved. The traffic calming effects benefit cyclists and pedestrians alike. Removing bike lanes will result in deaths and injuries. Lire davantage

Biking is the fastest way to get anywhere in the city. Please do not remove bike lanes on young, bloor or university as this will make it more dangerous for bikers. Lire davantage

This is such a bad idea, seemingly driven by nothing but spite from the Premier. I can't believe it's going to happen.

What actual confounded nonsense is this. "Oh, just one more lane, just one more lane, one more lane will fix everything!" and then you get the 401 which has SO many got-dang lanes and is STILL bunged up tighter than a frog's butthole in a watermelon seed fight. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are not what’s causing traffic congestion within the City of Toronto. Endless, uncoordinated road construction on every possible route is our biggest problem. As a driver, I have experience unacceptable delays sitting in road construction zones. Lire davantage

Rremoving the already existing bike lanes is just going to be a big waste of money and will not solve the traffic problem. It will just create more traffic. Just leave them alone and start enforcing traffic laws so roads can be safer for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers. Lire davantage

This has to be the most backward-shifting progress to remove bike lanes like this. This definitely won't save the gridlock problem and I'll most definitely be in my car longer during my commutes if this goes through. Good luck on the tunnel though. RIP G̶r̶e̶e̶n̶ ̶b̶e̶l̶t̶ ̶ Lire davantage

This bill makes bicycle lanes harder to build and would force a lot of existing lanes to be removed. Cyclists like my father and brother into car lanes where there's a much higher risk of them getting hit. Lire davantage

This is insane. Doug Ford is actively killing people for removing bike lanes. Ontario needs to improve bike land safety to help alleviate car traffic. We should encourage people to bike more to committee in an urban area, not the other way around. Lire davantage

This is a terrible bill for Ontarians, and the provincial government should not be interfering in transportation decisions being made by municpalities to provide eco-friendly, low-cost, safe multi modal infrastructure to residents throughout the province. Lire davantage

This is a wasteful measure. These decisions should be left to the local governments, who have better information and can make decisions that align with a multi-year transportation strategy. We don't need more red tape.
