My family and I are very troubled by Bill 212, specifically as it relates to bicycle lanes. We are a family of five (including 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 disabled adult) who live near Bloor Street and we all use the Bloor bike path every single day. Lire davantage

The profit interests of car companies, oil companies and other parties are being put above ACTUAL LIVES. Not acceptable. Leave the bikelanes where they are... in fact... INCREASE the bike lanes. Lire davantage

I oppose Bill 212 because it will not reduce gridlock and will waste Ontario tax payers money. Highway 413 will cost billions and will not improve the commute times of Ontarians (does anyone in this government understand the basic concept of induced demand?). Lire davantage

Bill 212, as it is written, will not resolve the issues it claims to set out to fix. The only purpose it serves is to further worsen the problem while funneling taxpayer dollars into private pockets. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my concern about the proposal to remove bike lanes and impose greater challenges on the development of new ones in Toronto. As a resident, I rely on bike lanes not only for my daily commute to work but also to enjoy recreational rides around the city with my children. Lire davantage

I am firmly against this bill. Bike lanes are essential to my commute in Toronto and make me feel safer and reduce the amount of cars on the road. I am also deeply concerned by the bill trying to reduce environmental impact studies/standards. Lire davantage

We should not be building highways through environmentally protected areas. Individual cars are much less efficient means of travel than trains and busses. We should be expanding the range of our go trains. We should be linking our out of city go train stops to local transit. Lire davantage

The bill is based on baseless claims and incorrect data. The gridlock issues in Toronto are caused by a variety of reasons such as construction, the lack of development in public transit infrastructure. Blaming bike lanes for these broader infrastructural issues seems like a scapegoat. Lire davantage

Removing bike lanes is ridiculous! If the city is trying to be eco-friendly, remove congestion, and promote healthy living, this fundamentally hypocritical to whole cause. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are necessary, useful, and represent good planning. Please don’t remove them

-No information given on highway 413 or broadband project. These initiatives appear to be hiding under cycling lane legislation and is a disingenous approach. -Removing cycling lanes would impact my family's safety and environmental quality of life. Lire davantage

This bill will not reduce gridlock. Removing bikes lanes does not make bicycles cease to exist - it just puts bicycles in lanes with cars which is not only extremely dangerous for cyclists but frustrating to drivers. Lire davantage

Bypassing municipal authority to remove bike lanes is inexcusably horrible. This should never be allowed. Data clearly shows that removing the bike lanes would not improve traffic, and would instead result in increased injury and death for cyclists. Lire davantage

I oppose the removal of bike lanes. This city needs transportation infrastructure not more cars. Bloor bike lanes are critical to moving through the city. There will always be traffic.

Terrible idea. Province shouldn’t interfere on city planning. Reducing bike lanes will only temporarily improve traffic and more people will drive or live further away from work, making the end result more traffic over the long run. Lire davantage

Do not let this pass. It is a land grab with the added bonus of screwing over Toronto. As a lifelong pedestrian and cyclist I can attest that we need more bike lanes not less. Providing safe infrastructure is the only way forward. Without it traffic is heavier and less safe for those not in cars.

- Eliminating bike lanes will compromise the safety of myself, my family, and the broader community. - Studies consistently demonstrate that road widening exacerbates traffic congestion rather than alleviating it. Lire davantage
