As a resident of Ottawa and long time bicycle commuter, I am absolutely opposed to Bill 212. This is personal for me, as I was hit, by a vehicle that ran a stop sign on a road without any accommodation for cyclists. Lire davantage

I use the bike lanes in Toronto every day. They are so important to those of us who want to reduce automobile traffic on the roads and make the city greener. Lire davantage

I need bike lanes to be safe when travelling through the city with my children. The city has the expertise to decide where and when bike lanes should be installed. The safety of ALL road users should be prioritized over saving drivers some time. Lire davantage

The proposal to exempt highway 413 and Bradford bypass from EA requirements is totally bad and breaks the law. The projects are highly destructive and will fundamentally make travel in the region more congested. It will also destroy sensitive habitat and remove farmland from economy. Lire davantage

Please do not go forward with this, it is a huge waste of money and it will inconvenience people's lives so much more.

Removing bike lanes is going to cost us millions that could be much better spent on other programs. Adding more car traffic to the city is not going to solve traffic congestion. Lire davantage

To the MTO: I am writing to express my opposition to the provisions in Bill 212, designated the "Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act, 2024". After thoroughly examining the text of the bill, there are significant issues that should be addressed before such a bill should be passed. Lire davantage

Ontario's Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act, which aims to improve transportation infrastructure and reduce traffic congestion, is a proposal that may sound promising on the surface, but upon closer examination, it reveals several flaws that could worsen the problem it seeks to address and ulti Lire davantage

This bill is not going to positively affect traffic and gridlock in the city. More lanes doesn’t equal less congestion. The opposite is true. Now there will be congestion plus cyclists who will be unprotected by barriers and make driving more stressful by sharing lanes. Lire davantage

I am so disappointed in Doug Ford & his government ministers. I thought they were the people who would make sound financial decisions for our province, but this bill shows a total disregard for responsible spending! Lire davantage

I am a driver and a cyclist. Traffic is very bad in Toronto, but removing the Bloor bike lanes will not solve that. Studies (like this https://tcat.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Bike-Lanes-and-Business-on-Bloor-Snapshot-2019-09-04.jpg) show that bike lanes are a good thing, and increase business! Lire davantage

Remove the bike lanes on Bloor. A common sense approach to the installation of new bike lanes has to prevail. What was done on Bloor street is appalling. It doesn't serve the best interest of the population except a very very very small minority. Lire davantage

Guys. everything going on in the world, why couldn't you actually be an example for future generations by being good people instead of just trying to exploit the land and make more money for your buddies? It's so depressing.

The removal of bike lanes in Toronto is regressive policy that panders to those who visit the city and prize car convenience over the safety and autonomy of those who live here. Lire davantage

Being able to bike safely around the city is one of the top factors of my quality of life in Toronto. Biking safely helps me stay happy, healthy, and efficient. Efficient because it means I can get to meetings and appointments more quickly than any other mode of transportation. Lire davantage

This entire bill is misguided in its approach to tackling traffic and congestion in the province. Traffic is an issue and much of this is due to the delay in development of critical public transportation options including but not limited to the Eglinton LRT. Lire davantage

The Ford government attempting to force this through and take control of bike lanes across the province is one of the most disingenuous things his government has done since he became premier, and that's really saying something. Lire davantage

Cycling plays a vital role in reducing traffic congestion and promoting environmental sustainability. However, this new legislation threatens the progress we’ve made toward building safer, more accessible infrastructure for cyclists. Lire davantage

Dear Mr. Ford, I am here to offer my strong oppositon to creating bike lanes southbound on Parkside. This is insane, and I am a cyclist, but I am also a motorist who uses this vital corridor to get to Lakeshore and QEW/Gardiner. Lire davantage
