I am opposed to the Government of Ontario meddling in municipal affairs and I am opposed to restricting/removing bike lanes. Protected bike lanes are part of the solution to combating climate change. Lire davantage

Please do not waste time and taxpayers money to send us backwards, when other amazing world cities are moving forward with pedestrian infrastructure. Its embarrassing. Its dangerous. Lire davantage

I bike to work 9 months of the year, downtown from the Junction Triangle. The Bloor bikelane has been one of the greatest additions to my safety the city could have possibly undertaken. Lire davantage

I think the provincial government should try to cut red tape and let muncipalities decide how their streets should look. Lire davantage

Bike infrastructure is a critical component of the transition to a low carbon/carbon neutral planet. Dedicated bike infrastructure REDUCES traffic rather than increasing it, and typically are less costly than vehicle infrastructure is to maintain. Lire davantage

Urban bike lanes reduce car traffic, make roads safer for everyone and increase income for businesses. Every study in every city in the world (including in Toronto) confirms this. We need more bike lanes, and more public transit. Lire davantage

Stop 413, don't remove bike lanes. Remember, 20 years from now we'll have these decisions to blame

Removing bike lanes in Toronto will quite obviously make traffic worse, most of the people who bike would need change to driving, making traffic worse. Lire davantage

I think this phase is a mistake in two regards: micromanaging cities creates extra work and costs for the provincial government. It's not been shown that this will generate anywhere near the amount of money it will cost to pay for the worker-hours too implement and oversee this system. Lire davantage

I am strongly against this proposal. Biking infrastructure is key to a promoting a healthy and eco friendly lifestyle, something the government should be promoting not destroying. Lire davantage

As someone who doesn’t own a car, biking is my primary mode of transportation, and it’s essential for my daily commute. Doug Ford’s proposal to remove bike lanes at Bloor St and University Avenue is not only baffling but also a step backward in making our cities more sustainable and accessible. Lire davantage

Dear provincial government. Don’t do this. This law increases red tape and wastes taxpayer money. Not that you care, and not that you tell the truth often. Casting my vote to vote to vote you out will be very satisfying

Removing bike lanes is counter to what research suggests we should be doing, it is against what the city wants (why is the entire province deciding on what happens in one city), and is otherwise a significant loss of time and resources. Lire davantage

This is wonderful idea. Too long has the City of Ottawa been adding bicycle lanes that serve very few people. The needs of the many need to come before the needs of a few cyclists.

I do not think this proposal is helpful for congestion, and truthfully seems more like Doug Ford is interested in punishing Toronto. I do not want my tax dollars to be spent ripping out bike lanes that have JUST been put in. Lire davantage

We need more safe bike routes, not fewer. Every person should feel safe while riding their bike inside or between cities in southern Ontario. I am sick of seeing news articles every week about yet another person mown down by careless automobile drivers. Lire davantage

Study after study after study has already found that bike lanes improve traffic congestion in the long run. Numerous studies have found that adding car infrastructure like highways and lanes, and wider roads only induces more people to drive, making traffic worse. Lire davantage

Proposals like this make it very clear that Doug Ford does only works to serve a certain class of residents (financially sound enough to own vehicles) while actively working to endanger citizens who rely on other forms of transportation. Lire davantage

This is a bad idea, will cost more and won't save any traffic. I can support this.
