I’m writing to express my opposition to the proposed sale and development of public land at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Provincial parks are meant to protect nature, support biodiversity, and provide accessible green space for everyone, not to be sold off for private profit. Lire davantage

Public parkland isn't for sale. It took many years and the cooperation of all parties to get our system of provincial parks and reserves in place back in the early 1990s. This was an achievement to ensure the natural heritage and environment of Ontario would continue. Lire davantage

As part of this transfer, it is imperative and self explanatory that the wildlife, including at risk and endangered wildlife, that depend on the natural landscape of Wasaga Beach is protected under law. Lire davantage

Please reconsider selling the land that the piping plovers make nests. Our wildlife is part of what makes Wasaga home. To share this land with these birds is a rare privilege.

I strongly disagree with this proposal to change to the provincial parks act. So much of our protected land needs to be cherished and nurtured. Lire davantage

Change is bound to happen as our town evolves and grows but it would be a big mistake to hand over the beaches and parks to the town for them to develop into housing! Lire davantage

The Wasaga CAO, Andrew McNeill, admitted he fudged the numbers of future residential units (2000) in order to get funding from the province. The mayor is now saying 3000 units. Nobody knows what the plan is as no plan exists & no costing for said plan. Lire davantage

Please don’t disturb the endangered Piping Plover birds. With the clear signs of Global warming. Looks at all the wildfires and smoke in the last few years. It’s more important than ever to protect our natural environments and wildlife.

I am wary of any move that puts Wasaga Beach land in the hands of anything with the word Gaming in the name of it. If the land were transferred to the town or even the county, I would trust that more than Ontario Gaming…. I am worried about what the new administration would do with the land. Lire davantage

As a proud Canadian, our provincial parks must be protected at all costs! No amount of development, no is amount of money is worth the loss of one of our greatest assets, THE BEAUTY OF OUR LAND. The catastrophic abuse of government power currently happening in the US, should be a warning to us. Lire davantage

As attention grows and questions are being asked regarding the proposed transfer of 5 - 6 kilometers of beach and adjacent land at Wasaga Beach to the Town of Wasaga Beach from Ontario Parks, town officials are alluding more and more to the potential for building. Lire davantage
