As much as tourism is good, I don’t think that Wasaga beach getting ownership of it would be okay. Wasaga beach is disgusting as it is, I do not want a place like that taking ownership of a historic site. Lire davantage

The current provincial parkland and Beach 1 and 2 is used by so many people from other parts of the province and many of our new Canadians. As our population increases with higher density housing, families need properly cared for green spaces and parklands to enjoy. Lire davantage

I am categorically against the proposal to sell or transfer beach areas one and two from provintial park to Wasaga Beach ownership. Lire davantage

This provincial park and green space is so important for the unique wildlife and for the communities. It is a greatly used and important space for so much different life.

The provincially protected land surrounding the Wasaga Beach, including Nancy Island historical site and the crown-owned lands within Beach 1, 2, New Wasaga and Allenwood Beach are an asset to the Wasaga Beach community. Lire davantage

As a resident of Wasaga Beach for more than a decade, and not planning on moving any time soon, this is my forever home, I do not support the town taking over any of the provincial park land along the waterfront of Georgian Bay. Lire davantage

No, it will mean more townhouses on the beachfront that only benefit a few. Keep it the Province's hands. Lire davantage

Please do not transfer Beach 1 and 2 to the ownership of Wasaga Beach. The existing mayor preaches that he will do things so fast you won’t even know it. He does things to benefit himself not the whole of Wasaga Beach. Lire davantage

How much more are you going to strip from the province and from the people that live here? Will you only be satisfied when there are no more trees and no more lakes safe enough to swim in? This will remove protections on critical land for multiple endangered species including plovers. Lire davantage

Please do not give control of beach 1 and 2 to the town of Wasaga Beach. The park at the mouth of the Nottawasaga river is a beautiful and unique place and plans to turn this into a harbour or “increase tourism”, most likely by building on it, will destroy this natural area even more. This is an extremely bad idea. Especially the transfer of Beach Areas 1&2 over to Town control. Once they have it they will be subject to influence by resident associations of the new townhouses to make both beaches private. Lire davantage

I believe the beaches should remain with the Province and not be sold to the Town of Wasaga Beach. Under no circumstances should the current mayor and his council be given control of these Beach areas. They will end up being sold to developers and the public will lose meaningful access to them. Please allow the park to be able to retain the piping plover habitat located from spruce street to the river, as it is crucial that these little birds be able to continue to use this valuable habitat.

I do not support the transfer of the shoreline areas of beaches 1 and 2 to the town of Wasaga Beach. The beach should remain open to all visitors and locals alike, as should the beautiful treed areas and the picnic areas. Lire davantage

I am extremely concerned with the proposal to transfer provincial beaches 1 and 2 as well as Tiny beach to the Town of Wasaga Beach . The proposed “need” is to increase tourism , but I feel that it will indeed have the opposite effect and tourists will refrain from coming . Lire davantage

I am firmly against this proposition due to the negative effects it will have on the environment of Wasaga Beach. The proposal brings up obtaining land in beach areas 1 and 2. Wasaga Beach is an incredibly rare and fragile ecosystem. Lire davantage

I absolutely approve of moving Nancy Island! This historic site is being left to ruins where it is . We see the beautiful villages of St Marie among the Huron and Discovery Harbour and weep for our historic Nancy Island. Lire davantage

The crown lands should remain crown land and not be sold to Wasaga Beach. While understanding the reasons, this change will not be beneficial for local community residents and will become less desirable. Lire davantage

Our natural lands owned by the Province should always be that way. There are way to many of these natural wonders that have been turned into parking lots and condo sites. We need to maintain what we have and handing it over to Municipal hands to manage will in time be disastrous. Lire davantage
