I am writing in support of the concerns set out by HCA’s Board of Directors who do not support this merger.

I have read in the past that the provincial government had stripped some of the powers of the conservation authority away so the could destroy wetlands.

I do not support the amalgamation and merger of conservation areas. These important institutions are best able to protect their watersheds, plants, and animals for the benefit of the local communities by keeping their management in the local community.

Amalgamation of conservation authorities in Ontario will cause unneccesary red tape, financial burden, and will eliminate the current locally based knowledge and expertise that is critical to managing flood control, outdoor recreation and environmental sustainability.

I am writing to express my concern about the proposed amalgamation of our Conservation Authorities and urge you to look into improving resources where needed without amalgamation.

I am a resident of Stoney Creek. I strongly oppose the merger of the Hamilton Conservation Authority with other conservation authorities. Our members of the Hamilton Conservation Authority know local needs best.
