Conservation authorities were formed through consent from participating municipalities. This has been a core principle of the conservation authority act. This is the same for changes in boundary and dissolution. They are main funders of ca’s through property taxes. Lire davantage

I am 100% against amalgamation of local conservation authorities into large regional ones. Local people know what is best for our conversation areas. I noticed that in the proposal there are multiple conservation authorities for the GTA, and barely any for the rest of Ontario. Lire davantage

This is not a good idea. The proposed regional authorities are way too big, the idea of consolidating all of these Conservation Authorities (CAs) is ridiculous. Reviews of applications take time for a reason and should not be amended just to fulfill the Conservative governments "housing promise". Lire davantage

Reducing the number of CA’s will only serve to undermine the protection of our local habitats. They are not there to streamline permits for developers, builders and farmers. They are there to protect the health of our environment on which our health depends. .

The idea of amalgamating 36 conservation authorities into 7 is absolutely ludicrous. There is no way that 7 offices can properly service all of the regions in Ontario. When you travel all across Ontario you can see how big and diverse it is. Lire davantage

Consolidating 36 conservation areas down to 7?! This is certainly not a responsible move at all. What is really going on?
