I am concerned about the proposed changes to the endangered species act. Given that we live in a web of interconnected species, it seems callous to disregard certain species only because they are economically inconvenient at one point in time but in future may prove to be extremely costly. Our species, along with many others, is facing the existential threat of climate change and loss of vital habitats. The last thing Ontario needs is any reduction in environmental protection. I strongly oppose the proposed changes to the Acts. If anything, they should be strengthened.

You propose removing protections that were thoughtfully put into place by experts, and substituting no useful protections. The changes are not being made by environmental scientists. They are being made at the behest of private entities - often foreign entities! Read more
