I appose Bill 5. I think this bill would further jeopardize Canada's native communities and be detrimental to our global image. Mexico is being praised for giving land back to its native communities. I do not think we should steam rolling ours for industry. Read more

I firmly oppose the proposed changes to the Proposed interim changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and a proposal for the Species Conservation Act, 2025. Biodiversity underpins the ecological services our society rely on. Read more

This bill is wrong and clearly set-up to bypass the current regulations in place by setting up a precedent that the need for infrastructure and housing is more important, and because of that we should avoid proper checks and balances. Read more

This proposed legislation and amendments clearly guts protections for wildlife and habitats. Sensible streamlining of approvals makes sense but none of this ensures maintaining a high level of protections for critical habitat or at risk species. Read more

Remember the flood in toronto last summer? Those will only get worse if we allow developers to continue to ravage undeveloped land. With nowhere for rainwater to drain, floods will continue, causing billions in damages that the government will have to spend taxpayer money to fix. Don't be stupid. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. I want stronger environmental protections and the protection of endangered species. I oppose shortcuts for industry. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones. We have one planet to live on and we need to protect it and all that reside on it. Read more

I strongly object to all of these proposed changes to the framework for managing species at risk, and suspect that if this change to policy is implemented as proposed, that many species (particularly in southern ontario) will suffer significant declines in population abundance and distribution. The determination of which species are endangered and/or needs to be protected should rest with the different experts from different but related fields, part of an expert committee, not the government. Read more

The ideas in this proposal are short-sighted and will cause irreparable harm to Ontario’s environment. Removing the protections for endangered species and allowing development without a process for accountability is not the direction we should be heading as a province. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. Stronger enviromental protections must be put in place. Industrial projects should not have shortcuts with no public oversight. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones.
