This sounds like our history will be destroyed. Any burial grounds on residential lands will be desecrated. Any animal environments can be decimated. Then people can complain when animals enter housing areas forgetting that we encroached on their habitats. Read more

I don't believe these proposed amendments are a good idea. Especially the "Exemption for Property" change. Making changes for the sake of efficiency almost always compromises integrity. Read more

The proposed Amendment to the Ontario Heritage Act, Schedule 7 is unethical and a detriment to the future peoples of Ontario. Archaeological assessments need to be conducted to ensure that no history is lost in the name of development. Read more

I DO NOT agree to these amendments. I am concerned that your government will ride roughshod over individual, community and treaty rights in favour of for-profit organizations that only benefit the companies involved. More mega sprawls of homes for the wealthy is NOT what we need. Read more

With respect, I have some serious concerns regarding Section 66.1. Specifically: 1) Exempting properties from archaeological assessment by Orders in Council means that archaeological sites – including Indigenous ones – could be destroyed by fiat and in secret. Read more
