The environmental impact will be direct on human health. Outdoor recreational opportunities are critical for preservation of mental health and to physical fitness and will be severely impacted permanently. There is a scarcity of accessible public use green space near densely populated areas. Read more

Building on protected waterfront land does not preserve and protect it. People go to Wasaga Beach for the beautiful sand and the long stretches of undisturbed nature, with the peace of not having commercial endeavours in their faces. Read more

I am strongly opposed to the proposal of transferring parkland to the Municipal and/or Provincial governments and/or private enterprise. It is my belief that we need to preserve our parks and natural lands and reduce urban sprawl. This is critically important for our children and grandchildren. Read more

Keep your hands off our provincial parks! With climate change and disastrous natural events to come, we NEED to preserve and protect our parkland. Wasaga beach is the largest freshwater beach in the world and a place for GLOBAL HERITAGE AND PRESERVATION. Read more

This plan reflects greed and total disregard for our environmental impacts. It’s not reflective of the Canada I know and love and makes future decisions around our parks and environmental areas more at risk of distraction. Read more

I am against the move the Ford government has proposed in buying part of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. It will ruin the natural habitat of the area.

Hello, PLEASE protect our public parks, beaches, and Crown land. I do not support this change to Wasaga Beach. This beach plays an important role to the environment and endangered species and we cannot allow change to the largest freshwater beach in the world. Read more

I am opposed to this proposal. We need to respect, protect and expand our provincial parks, both for the health of our natural environment and the physical and mental health of Ontarians, not transfer, sell or sever off our provincial parks for development. Read more

I have grave concerns regarding the proposal by the government of Ontario to sell/transfer parts of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park to the township of Wasaga, and likely eventually private ownership. Read more

Stop selling off public land to profit making groups and establishments!! Keep Ontario beautiful and let us enjoy the land, scenery and beauty we get to boast about! IF this is approved you are basically giving the all clear on any land. It will all be up for grabs to the highest bidder. Read more

I do not agree with reducing the size of the current provincial park in Wasaga beach. This was made a protected area for good reason. Commercial development cannot be permitted in areas already set aside for protection. Read more

Moving crown lands/conservation lands into any kind of ownership has never protected our environment. Where profit is involved, it makes our ecologically sensitive areas vulnerable to irreversible damage. Read more

Parkland should remain park land, the province has a shortage of access to waterfront for the public and this critical habitat in no way should be transferred over in the name of development and greed.

Hard "no" on this. We've seen & experienced too many Developers violating public trust in keeping their word, honoring deals & even obeying laws. Until legislation catches up to put significant laws on the books (ie. Read more

I oppose the sale of any Ontario Parks land. These parks are havens for wildlife and for people to connect with nature. It is very disappointing that this government is trying to destroy our natural spaces. The bigger question is who is benefiting from these land grabs. Read more

Please don’t take the provincial parks, stop selling the best parts of Ontario for development, this is egregious! Our children deserve better! Keep Wasaga Beach the way it is!!!
