We all know that selling off this public land will not increase “tourism” or enhance the utility of this land for the public. It’s to put money in developers’ pockets and give rich people a beach getaway. Read more

We occasionlly go to Wasaga Beach and are aware of the Piping Plovers that are there. It would be a shame if their breeding grounds were damaged or destroyed if Birds Canada no longer could take of their breeding grounds. Read more

This is a horribly corrupt proposal that will negatively affect tens of thousands of people and only benefit a few. Shame on the Ontario government for considering selling off such an integral beach to developers.

The parkland should be conserved, not passed into the private sector. I have seen public access to our beautiful natural waterways slowly consumed by private interests. This is a mistake. All Canadians and visitors here are entitled to enjoyment of its natural beauty. Read more

NO. Wasaga Beach is a popular tourist attraction because of the protected waterfront. It services all peoples regardless of income or social status. I reject the proposed changes to the act. Further, this will set a precedent for selling of protected lands and crown lands. Read more

Please do not go forward with this Premier Ford and Cons. We do not want to give away anymore green land to developers. Leave this space alone for all Ontarians to use and enjoy. Once the land is developed, we won't be able to use it for any other purpose. Read more

I strongly oppose the removal of 645 acres from Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. This land has been publicly protected for generations and is home to vital ecosystems like dunes, wetlands, and endangered species habitat. Read more

Drive for economic growth through tourism is not a valid reason for destroying habitat for so many animals especially endangered ones like the piping plovers. When will we accept that when we make economic growth the # 1 priority, we often/usually threaten our own life support system. Read more

We are heading down the wrong path as a province. Ignoring the value and importance of endangered species is absolutely the wrong choice. We have destroyed so much habitat all in the name of progress. Read more

I really like the provincial parks and conservation areas being off limits to developers and being kept for the public and nature. It's nice to go somewhere for a hike and not feel like the whole experience has to be expensive or crowded because the place hadn't been maintained. Read more

In respect to transferring control of the Nancy Island site from Provincial Parks to the Historic Parks Act is, on the surface, a reasonable move both for the preservation of the site and the future of Wasaga Beach tourism. Read more

Please consider the the delicate state of the Piping Plovers survival when making a decision on this proposal. We need to protect their habitat.
