I am against the proposed land transfer. Wasaga beach provincial park is important habitat for endangered piping plovers and was protected for a reason. The proposed transfer also puts public access at risk to the resource.

I think it’s critical to protect endangered bird habitat like that of the plovers, and if this proposal threatened their habitat, it shouldn’t be pursued.
The transfer of parts of Wasaga Beach from the province to the Town of Wasaga Beach could reverse the success of an endangered species that has relied on the beach for almost two decades.

I am deeply concerned about the proposed changes at Wasaga Beach. For the past several years I have watched, from a safe distance, the protected area as the piping plovers nest. It is heartbreaking that the nests failed this year and will likely have no chance in the future.
