Absolutely shameful the Ford government is transferring this land to the Town for development. What about nature for ALL the PEOPLE?? Short term development interests that will change the landscape forever, for long term harm for the piping plover and other shorebirds. Read more

I support the government’s decision on transferring beaches 1 and 2 from the Wasaga Beach provincial park to the town of Wasaga Beach. Everyone in my neighborhood is excited about this big change, making Wasaga Beach a world class destination. Read more

I’m concerned that the drive to boost tourism ignores the need to protect precious land and wildlife. I do not support this.

The government of Canada has a responsibility to protect and champion all residents of Canada, including the animals we share this land with. Particularly with declining populations, it should be a priority of the government to oversee their protection and conservation.

Please do not endanger the habitat of the piping plover. They can in nest anywhere; they require Sandy beaches. Wasaga is their late heat habitat in Ontario. As we watch our forests burn we realize there is more to our province than the economy. Read more

I would like to call on the province of Ontario to forgo transferring ownership of the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park from Ontario Parks to the Town of Wasaga Beach as the already endangered Piping Plover will be at increased risk if the transfer of land is approved. Read more

Ford needs to stay away from our protected lands. Stop it. Soon there will not be any natural space to enjoy and keep wildlife safe. We have already cause damaged. Please keep our parks untouched.

I fear the Town of Wasaga Beach intends to develop the beaches for private ownership rather than maintain the existing ecosystem and public use. This would be against everything Nature requires. It would be against any Environmental Management policy for Ontario’s future. Read more

These are public lands and should not be sold for-profit to a very select few who would be able to afford it. This is not right and should not happen.

Provincial parks are essential to the enjoyability of the community spaces I was raised in. Without access to spaces like this, Wasaga Beach being one I frequented through my teenage years, It makes it harder for Ontarian’s to feel a sense of pride in where they live. Read more

I am disgusted DISGUSTED by this proposal! Beyond that, I am also baffled. To the point that I barely know how to put words to it. Why is this proposal even being suggested?? Are we truly so stupid as a society and a species that we still have not learned how delicate and precious nature is?? Read more

I absolutely disagree with this project! The ford government must not allow the Town of Wasaga to take over Provincial Park lands to expand their boundaries for building condos and tawdry ‘holiday attractions’. This avaricious land grab will endanger wildlife unique to this particular area. Read more

I believe the land should not be transferred to the city. Piping Plovers are endangered and need protection that a Park can provide, and that a city may not.
