Protect the plovers, beach and its environs are the wrong place for any development , Ontario is not a one time use disposable entity, protect the environment and life within it.

As a concerned Ontarian, I am writing in strong opposition to the proposed sale and development of portions of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, as outlined in ERO 025-0694. Read more

Premier Ford, Please do some research on the interconnectedness of the environment. Endangering the Piping Plover puts stress on other parts of the environment in a cascading fashion. Eventually, the benefits that make Wasaga Beach a unique and enjoyable destination will no longer exist. Read more

Please don’t send off more of a beautiful land to private companies. They will take away a free experience of going to the beach for family fun. This is where I have gone every year my whole life, don’t sell.

How dare Premier Ford even think this should be allowed?!! There is a glut of houses and condos on the market for sale. Baby Boomers are or will be selling their homes within the next few years. We do not need to carve out land for developers/houses from our national forest parks. Read more

Keep your hands off our parks! They are not for sale! This is ridiculous and it needs to stop. Wasaga Beach is home to so much wildlife that need to be protected, and these natural areas are so deeply important to the people too. We need more of them, not less. Read more

I just read about this proposal and am hoping that the piping plovers habitat will continue to be protected under the jurisdiction of Ontario Parks.

Wasaga does not want the development bring proposed. The piping plover nests here and Wasaga parks/beaches are some of the best natural areas for other species. Its a natural gem that should be left be and folks are happy with it not being carved up for individual sale. Read more

I am extremely opposed to any sale of land that will mean a loss of habitat for wild animals. I am even more opposed to this move if it means that individuals will be able to own the land and build their homes and cottages there.

Leave Wasaga be! We should not be doling out chunks of parks and beaches meant for the public people to enjoy nature as is and the species that depend upon it. Not every beach has to be a spa or crazy setup that ruins an area by paving it over. Read more

I don't think the province should be selling crown land and any portion of provincial parks. I don't trust that the beach and surrounding areas will not be privatized at a later time. This doesn't make sense for the town and I think will have negative impacts for years to come. Read more

I do not support any transfer of provincial parks land , specifically beach area 1 and 2 to the town of Wasauga beach. Provincial Parks are for all citizens of this province to enjoy and use and should remain a Provincial park. Quite frankly I am disgusted that this was even proposed. Read more

I am concerned about both the loss of public access and environmental protections to such a broad swath of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park - roughly a third of the shoreline. Read more

my priority for myself, for the next seven generations, for our entire Ontario community is to preserve public parks as parks. with climate crisis barreling at us, it is beyond foolish to take wild, carbon-holding land with diverse biosphere and develop them in any way. Read more
