I am shocked to learn of this plan and I am opposed to removing the beach areas identified from the provincial system. I use these beaches on a regular basis and have often thought how forward thinking it was for Wasaga Beach to designate them as a provincial park making them available to all. Read more

We must protect the endangered Piping Plovers habitat on Wasaga Beach Do not change anything anywhere near where they nest and spend time!

I DO NOT support the sale of public lands to Wasaga Beach for its development. Public lands belong to just that, the public and should remain so forever. Wasaga Beach is the longest freshwater beach in the World, is pristine and public. Read more

Doug Ford is on a war path to destroy the people, places, and animals we love in Ontario. Doug Ford is once again putting the interests of well-connected, wealthy developers ahead of the people, places and wildlife we love. Read more

I appreciate the Town of Wasaga Beach’s drive to enhance tourism but this is not the way to do it. The lands should be left as they are for public use.

Leave Wasaga beach alone. It is critical for plovers, among other species. Stop the greed and destruction.

Provincial Parks should be left alone and NOT developed. Why must people persist in destroying our planet for money?!

Wasaga beach is an Ontario heritage. Moving it to the municipality would put stress on the municipality and this would impact the beach’s condition. Read more

How can one not comprehend how ridiculous this is. How can you even think about just selling land that theoretically doesn’t belong to you? This land has been THE most successful grounds for our endangered Piping Plover, which had a total count of 5 breeding pairs this year within Ontario. Read more

No. No to selling off crown land to developers. No to destroying out heritage of undeveloped natural spaces to enjoy. No to reclassified OUR crown land as land able to be sold off to the rich. No.

I strongly oppose the proposal to transfer beach areas from Ontario Parks to the Town of Wasaga. For many years, Beach 1 has been home to nesting Piping Plovers and Ontario Parks has been excellent at coordinating the protection of this species. Read more

I stand against the amendments in legislature of Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act. In a rapidly changing climate we need to slow down on expansions and development, especially with the currently protected lands. Read more

This is abhorrent. Ford should not be able to sell off any park or public land. Wasaga Beach is in need of more protection not condo development. Shame on the Ford government.

Leave our Provincial Parks alone. We should be doing everything we can to protect what green spaces we have and vital habitats for endangered species like the Piping Plover. Instead this government seems determined to erode the incredible diversity of wildlife we have in Ontario. Read more
