No no no no no. This is awful for the province to do. More money more money more money that's all this is about. You take away the beach as ecological barrier between the bay and the town. The habitats of animals and endangered ones are the ones the gov't should be striving to protect. Not destroy. Read more

I cannot understand this governments need to sell off our provinces parkland, it sure seems like a page out of Donald Trumps playbook! Wasaga Beach is known internationally as the worlds longest freshwater beach and surely the town benefits from that. Read more

I live along Lake Erie. It's a terrible situation here in summer. As a child we would sit on the beach at my grandparents cottage and enjoy the area with people looking for a place to swim. This has changed. Cottageers owning down to the water make most beaches private. Conflicts arise. Read more

Provincial parks should be protected. We speak of protecting our planet and reducing emissions and our carbon foot print, but then want to pave over the places we have accessible. I oppose this proposal as a citizen that has been using this park for over 30 years! Read more

Doug Ford's government is yet again trying to destroy green space by handing it to developers. Wasaga Beach provincial park was the most popular park in 3 out of 4 of the last years. People are clearly enjoying the beach while also allowing nature to thrive. What better outcome could you ask for? Read more

This is a bad proposal just like 407 privatization. The government will lose a valuable asset, and the beach will be a less attractive and more expensive place to visit. Read more

We need to protect our natural areas more than ever. Opening up Parkland to development is grossly irresponsible. Please listen to the concerned citizens who are advocating for our environment. Read more

These beachfront lands on Georgian Bay are owned by the people of Ontario. They should never be a part of tourism development. We cherish the natural habitat, the sand dunes, and the vegetation communities and the wetlands. Read more

I'm strongly opposed to amending the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006, (PPCRA) for the purposes for promoting development and tourism at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. This area is critical habitat for the endangered Piping Plover. Read more

No! Hands off the piping plover bird habitat! Shame on you! How does this plan "protect the area's natural and cultural heritage"? I don't go to the beach to go shopping, I go to the beach for nature and peace.

This proposal is atrocious. Our Provincial Parks should be untouchable from the whims of the current politicians. With increasing pressure from ill-planned development we desperately need MORE parks not less. Is no one in this current government thinking of the future??? Read more

THIS IS A TERRIBLE IDEA. As a resident of Ontario I hold my politicians accountable to us now and in the future. This is our land - our the citizens not for profit land of developers. This is morally and ethically wrong headed. I do not support in any way the selling off of Ontario land. Read more

It’s unfortunate to see Ontario not committing to taking care of its Provincial parks, and deciding that a potential boost to tourism is more important than preserving our land.
