To me there is only one word to describe what the Ford government wants to do with Wasaga Beach:PATHETIC!!! I grew up in Meaford and moved away three years ago because of all the people who have moved in and built their fancy big homes along the shore of Georgian Bay. Read more

Removing over half of Wasaga's beachfront is not only highly illogical and irresponsible; it is pure recklessness. The entire reason this is such a huge tourist destination is because of the beautiful beaches. The Ford Government is proposing to destroy the beach for housing? Read more

It is essential, for the preservation of endangered species and for Ontario tourism, that all provincial parklands, especially Wasaga Beach, remain whole and untouched. These lands belong to all and not a select few. Read more

I think this proposal is harmful as we will be losing public land and taking away endangered Piping Plover habitat. There was a strong effort to bring them back in 2007, and for all that work to go to waste and harming an already endangered species is shameful.

Your proposed changes to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act would not only jeopardize the Piping Plovers at Wasaga Beach but would open the door to privatizing all Ontario parks. Read more

The decision to open a significant portion of our provincial park to development is extremely disappointing. These parks are the jewels of our province and a vital part of protecting our natural wildlife habitats and species for future generations. Read more

Provincial parks are meant to be protected and that protection is meant to last. To remove even part of that protection sets a dangerous precedent. It opens that area up for development which would be damaging to the dunes as well as the habitat of all the wildlife and flora and fauna there. Read more

This sets another danger precedent. The Provincial Parks & Conservation Reserves Act and Historical Parks Act were meant to preserve nature in designated areas for generations to enjoy. Parks are set aside to be separate from commercial housing developments. Read more

It’s deeply disheartening to hear that a large portion of our provincial park is being opened up for development. These parks are not just beautiful landscapes—they are essential for protecting wildlife and preserving natural ecosystems for the future. Read more

We need to stop messing around with green space. The government is all about saving the planet. Carbon this, carbon that. But without the trees, vegetation, the inhabitants that live there, we do nothing for the environment if we keep destroying land. Let's turn Ontario into a cement city. Read more

This land must not be sold to the town. The government has a fiduciary duty to the residents to provide a balanced budget and this will be too easily sold to private equity in the near or distant future. Maintain the land as park land and uphold the common good.

Proposal to transfer control of part of Wasaga Beach to the city: I am a hard NO! on this proposal. This is a time in the life of the world when humans need more access to natural places, not less. Read more

This is horrible, I do not support the idea of stripping away any provincial park land in order to create more profit! Lands and habitats need to be protected not profited from!
