Reducing the size of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is an awful idea. I go to Wasaga Beach all the time in the summer and it’s always busy and crowded. If you reduce the size of the beach by half, you vastly limit the amount of people who can visit the beach at one time. Read more

As a lifelong Ontario resident, and as a parent who is concerned about the legacy we are leaving to the generations that come after us, I am strongly against selling off our provincial parks. Read more

There is no way this idea should even be proposed. The town of Wasaga Beach sees millions of visitors each year and must see a lot of money from these tourists. If the environment is not placed before greed, we won’t have a world to worry about in the near future!

1. This will totally set a precedent for all parkland to be sold - welcome to the 51st state? 2. Just because it’s sold to a developer doesn’t mean it will be GOOD development - look at lots of waterfront towns in Ontario that have been developed badly - Wasaga Beach included! Read more

I have voted twice for Doug Ford and other than his trying to remove protections from a swath of the Greenbelt a couple years and and done other minor issues, I have been quite happy with him as Premier. Read more

100% wholeheartedly do no approve of this proposal moving forward. It is absolutely embarrassing and disgusting that we are even discussing the possibility of decreasing environmental protections, especially to such a ecologically important space. All to boost tourism? You should be ashamed.

As an Ontarian who values our many precious natural ecosystems I am appalled at Premier Ford's proposal to develop these same natural ecosystems. With each passing year the magical forests ,farms and wetlands that I enjoyed and continue to enjoy are replaced by any manner of construction. Read more

Taking a look at the map, we are giving away 50% of the beach area. Pubic protected lands that are open to all Ontarians and will now be privatized and gentrified. We'll lose important ecological areas including dunes, waters and breeding grounds for the iconic Piping Plover. Read more

This is an absurd, morally repulsive idea to develop a well-loved public provincial park. It will damage the environment and make this beautiful area unaffordable for hard-working Canadian families who come here to enjoy a vacation.

Wasaga beach provincial parks should remain as is - not changed. The municipality has no business being able to sell and develop these areas.

This proposed amendment completely baffles me. In an era where we are encouraging people to be outdoors and reconnect with nature why would we decrease those areas. Our provincial parks are such an integral part of our heritage. And an economical way for families to vacation. Read more

This is the worst, most short-sighted and greedy proposal since Ford's idiotic proposal to destroy the greebelt. National parks must be preserved for future generations not sold to Fords development buddies. STOP THIS STUPIDITY IMMEDIATELY!!!!
