Due to my concerns over the potential loss of irreplaceable environmentally sensitive lands and threats to endangered species, and the apparent lack of planning from the Town of Wasaga Beach beyond selling these lands off to private owners and their interest only in tourism and economic development Read more

Ontario parks has a proven record of superb management, youth summer jobs, patrolling, garbage, sand cleaning etc. The town is not capable nor equipped . For sure the rare species who come there, several, will be gone, with hotel, condos , more parking . Read more

I would like to ask that the entire area be left with Ontario Parks and that Ontario Parks be funded to manage that beach to the satisfaction of both the environment and the tourists. They have done this for many years. Read more

Keep the island as a park. We need our parks for tourism - parks are the draw. Why does everything need to be built on and then admission charges to enter? Don’t sell land keep it all parkland. Read more

This is not taking into consideration the many species, including the Piping Plover, which rely on the habitat in Wasaga Beach as a means to exist. This area is one of the few remaining dune habitats left in Ontario and should not be paved over or allowed for housing development. Read more

This land must remain protected the way it is. There is a ton of legitimate concern that rearranging things like this can only have a negative impact. Read more

This is NOT what Wasaga Beach wants! Crown land and Provincial Parks SHOULD NOT BE FOR SALE! These are valuable PROTECTED dune habitats for so many endangered species. You claim to be prioritizing the people but like the Ford government you are just prioritizing your own profits. Read more

Removing more than 40% of protected park lands and turning it over to be sold, developed, and destroyed does not align with Canada's goal of ensuring 30% of environmentally important canadian land is protected. Read more

As a lifelong resident of Ontario, I have been enjoying Ontario Provincial Parks for over seven decades now. The thought that beautiful Wasaga Beach could be sold to developers is abhorrent. Read more

I do not support the selling of public lands, Provincial Parks, or Crown lands which hosts as a natural habitat to endangered species. Development can happen off the main beach and should not affect public access or the natural environment.

Wasaga Beach should be preserved for wildlife and future generations. It should not be given to developers to line Doug Ford’s pockets.

No. Just no. Provincial parks are for all the people of Ontario, not a few who can’t think of a way to pay their bills except to covet public assets. Read more

This is a step backward! Protected lands need to stay protected and maintained. This will harm environment, and wildlife. This should absolutely NOT move forward.

This is a provincial park and should be left the hell alone. It's unnecessary and I'm sure that money being used for this could be of use somewhere that's actually important.
