Leave parks alone! They are not spaces that can be taken and developed whenever the powers that be feel like it!

Removing protections for precious parkland in 2025? How very Trumpian. The people will not allow it once they are more widely aware. Its supporters will have a hard time getting reelected. MPPs of the majority should think carefully before genuflecting to their supreme leader on this one.

This is a short-sighted decision that is failing the public good. This is public land that should remain with the public. This is also critical habitat that should not be impacted. This is a shameful approach.

This is outrageous. I live in Wasaga Beach. Our council should not be making decisions like this without public input. Protective Acts MUST not be changed. This will devalue the trust in the government by any taxpayer in this Province. Read more

Absolutely unacceptable. There are enough public areas that was sold out to rich people. The general population deserves access to wildlands and shorelines. This is not fair. Ontario is becoming a joke. Enough of greedy developments that only benefits Ford's rich friends and voters. Read more

Disgraceful. Leave our parks and green spaces alone. You are one premier, for a limited time. Our parks are the legacy we leave for our children. Wasaga Beach doesn't belong to you. Leave it alone!

I do not welcome the idea of reducing the protections on any provincial park land, especially to allow development which would put at risk any endangered species such as the Piping Plover whose nesting habitat would be affected by this proposal.

Please just leave Ontario's parks and at-risk species/environments alone. There has been national and even international coverage regarding the absolute embarrassment going on at Ontario Place already, and now we're going to ruin more of our green and parkland? Read more

Removing this land from the park will deteriorate the economy that is currently already receiving a vast amount of tourism precisely to visit the park. The land will end up in private hands with little to no interest in protecting it. Read more
