No 20 story buildings!!!!! The north end CANNOT accommodate the influx of traffic this would bring. They’ve already reduced lanes to single lane (not each way - cars have to find a spot to pull over to allow other cars to pass), there’s NO street parking. Read more

Prior to the new development plans, the Jamesville complex was home to nearly 100 families. While sound, smell, and noise pollutions are very real issues living close to a rail system, they are manageable inconveniences many would trade for a safe and affordable roof over their heads. Read more

Please do everything possible to build housing on the Jamesville site. It is mind boggling that the site has been sitting derelict for so long with such dire housing shortages in Hamilton. We need an MZO now to get this much-needed development started. Let’s go!!

Please move this forward. People have lived/still live in this area and CNs concerns are baseless. Most unhoused would sign a waiver regarding noise etc just to get a roof over their head. We need more affordable housing and less tents now! Read more

why not? Why not build housing for our city on property already designed to house a beautiful little neighbourhood? Why not invest in maybe the North End/Bay Front area more beautiful and vibrant? Why not make a place for families and children to play and grow up? Read more

Give those in need of shelter a place to live and stay. These areas where we have run down buildings/spaces that’s aren’t utilized will always be a waste if nothing is done about it. Everyone deserves a home it’s time to do something about it!

I think it's very important that we build affordable housing on the James Street Property because we are currently in a housing crisis and needs the space to be used for homes and if something is not done soon on the property the buildings there are going to crumble and cause damage to the fences an Read more

Since 2023, I have seen the entire downtown area fill with unhoused individuals, living in tents, scattered. Due to the increase in condominiums built in the area, a common denominator is becoming more visible: affordable housing is being stripped from individuals to make room for gentrification. Read more

Hamilton needs this housing! It is a large city with housing that has become unaffordable for the average household, earning average income. Being a realtor in this city for almost 40 years, I see it first hand on a day to day basis. Please help the people of Hamilton! F. L. Clairmont Read more

I run a business on James North and I’ve been staring at this property for 10 years. It’s about time it needs to be refurbished especially with our housing crisis here in Hamilton. I can’t believe it’s taken this long. It’s a shame all the space being wasted away.
