Firstly, why was the James street complex closed.
If people lived there before it was closed why does it need a a soil remediation program to prepare the site for development and how much will this cost? ( Tiny homes soil remedy cost millions.)

I think the development is necessary and needs to move forward as soon as possible. I do not understand how CN Rail could have an issue with it considering how much development there already is in the area. What makes Jamesville so “special” that they insist on trying to block the development.

I would like to provide my support for the MZO of the Jamesville North redevelopment in Hamilton. It's my belief that the CN Rail objection is not in good faith as there are many houses along that rail line and several along the rail yard.

It's important for the community to put protection of homeless people over profits of corporations. The decision should favour finding a safe living space for the helpless in Hamilton.
Please, please, use whatever fair and just means to amend legislation to make this Jamesville area into mixed - mostly affordable housing. It is such an eyesore to see people without homes sleeping on the street while this property sits vacant.

Please approve MZO for Hamilton Jamesville site to address critical housing needs. This was a pre-existing complex and has deteriorated due to on-going stalling by CN Rail. People need to be housed!
I would love to see the site be developed, it's just sitting there, falling apart, looking disgusting! Hamilton needs affordable housing now. The CN Rail has too much power when it comes to building proposals. Their appeal isn't helping, it's hurting!

YES they should be able to build on this site. There has been housing in this area for decades. A lot of the existing housing is even closer to the rail yards. Let's move in a positive direction.
CN has stonewalled the city of Hamilton now for over 3 years on the Jamesville Housing project. Time to get it up and running by issuing an MZO. The housing crisis is real and action is needed now!
