As someone raised in the central riding, and who chooses to make a life here as an adult resident, it’s appalling that this has been an issue for this long. All levels of government need to mobilize to address affordable housing issues, and largely agree than this is the case. Read more

I fully support the proposed development at 405 James Street North under Minister’s Zoning Order 025-0807. This plan makes excellent use of an idle and partially demolished property, and transforms it into a vibrant residential area with much-needed housing. Read more

The Jamesville site has been sitting vacant for far too long and should be developed as soon as possible. The possible risk of noise from the CN rail station does not outweigh the positive impact the housing development will have on the hamilton community.

The fact that this has gone on this long is an absolute disgrace to Hamilton and Ontario in general. How can you (the government) allow something like this to just sit here for so long. You should look at yourself and be ashamed. Get to work for god sake. Read more

Fix any contamination present and put the housing back there. Hamilton has already been torn to shreds by other major corporations and the low income (affordable or social) housing sector has taken the brunt of it. Homelessness in hamilton has grown unchecked. Read more
