Any Species Conservation Act that ceases to recognize 106 at risk species cannot also claim to be "maintaining strong environmental safeguards". This is political double speak, an excuse for forging ahead with development at the expense of the natural world. Read more

I have no faith in the governments intentions to protect any species at risk. This government has shown by its actions that development and the economy will always trump (pun intended) the environment and developers know this. Read more

It seems that our current government is completely ignoring any scientific research that shows that the health of ecosystems are intertwined with the health of humans. The loss of an animal species affects the ecosystem and it affects more than just one little patch of land. Read more

I believe that all of the species at risk in Ontario should continue to be protected. It is important for all of us to protect the natural world that we inherited for the benefit of our children and grandchildren. Removing these protections is a big step backwards.
