This is disgusting. You think we can’t see through your agenda. While the words are pretty, almost seeming like you care, if you know what you are reading, you see the danger in these proposals. Read more

The changes that the provincial government are proposing are extremely detrimental to endangered species. Habitats will be jeopardized so that the provincial government can develop land. In addition, these new proposals remove accountability from the provincial government. Read more

Do not narrow the definition of ‘habitat’, recovery depends on future restoration zones. Also, reverse the exclusion of aquatic species and migratory birds, as both contribute to a healthy and secure ecosystem. Read more

Ontarians owe it to our children and grandchildren to stand up for the species that share this land — not surrender them for short-term profit. I demand that the Government of Ontario: 1. Withdraw the Species Conservation Act and restore the Endangered Species Act. Read more

Do NOT remove ANY species from the endangered list. This is wrong, wrong, wrong. I am deeply saddened and angry with this complete disregard for preserving life and habitats. This government must stop ignoring our precious habitats. Not to mention that the Ring of Fire should not be touched. Read more

I am unhappy with this proposal and shocked to see the Ontario government putting profit over species. When we don’t care for the habitats and animals where we live then we will suffer in the future. I urge you to consider the long term impact of your proposal on future generations.

PROTECT our species and our land! We do not need more development in protected areas! Force redevelopment in rundown warehouses and derelict properties in and around cities. We need our green spaces and our species to be protected.

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed changes as outlined. Ontario’s biodiversity and ecosystems are already under immense pressure, and weakening existing protections would have devastating long-term consequences. Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5. This bill is a direct attack on Ontario’s environment, wildlife, and democracy. It hands power to developers and corporations while silencing the people who actually live here. Read more

I strongly oppose this proposal. Scientific findings should not be politically vetoed. Evidence based conservation is essential. Reinstate the Advisory Committee for oversight, and stop the exemption of permits from public comment. We need educated oversight and transparency. This is unacceptable.

I am writing to oppose these changes as a resident of this beautiful province that can thank the native species for this beauty, they deserve protection and no financial argument should negate that. Evidence-based conservation shouldn’t be overruled for an individual political party’s interest. Read more

I am a Canadian that is born and raised in rural Ontario, and I am absolutely appalled at this proposition. The area I live in within Ontario has one of the highest numbers of diverse biological life and species, and this area also has the highest rates of species at risk. Read more
