The City of Peterborough Asset Management and Capital Planning Division is deeply concerned that Schedule 5 of Bill 60 would unnecessarily limit a municipality’s ability to effectively manage its own transportation network. Read more

This is terrible idea. Ontarians need different forms of transportation to suit their need. By blanket removing municipalities ability to install bike lanes without provincial approval, you limiting our freedom and make us less safe while doing nothing to solve transit. Read more

I strongly oppose the proposed bill that would prohibit municipalities from reducing motor vehicle traffic lanes when installing, implementing, or marking new bicycle lanes. Read more

As a driver, voter and taxpayer, I find this legislation appalling. It is regressive and will make the lives of Ontarians worse without any of the claimed benefits. Not all road users are in cars, and public policy should reflect that. Read more

This bill is exceedingly irresponsible. I do not even use a bike but I firmly oppose this bill. This bill is designed to put the lives of cyclists and pedestrians in danger; it will not even do anything to reduce traffic delays. Read more

It has not been proven that lane vehicle lane reductions is causing more congestion. Building more roads causes more congestion. Building more bike lanes will encourage more people to get out of their cars and onto their bikes. Read more

Hello, I'm a commuting cyclist and I love cycling in Toronto when streets have protected bike lanes. I want to take my 65+ year old parents cycling around Toronto or hopping on and off the TTC. We can stop by many of restaurants and cafe in Toronto. I want to bike to work. Read more

This act is a gross over-reach by the province. Let the Premier try to walk his grandchildren along the speedy streets that he wishes to create and he will be terrified. Read more

Cycling lanes saved lives. They prevent aggressive drivers from mixing it up with cyclists. Cycling is green energy and should be promoted and protected. Removing cycling lanes is painting targets on the back of cyclists. Read more

I am not sure why this government keeps attacking bike lanes and their use. Vision Zero should be a goal of the entire province and this can only be achieved by providing safe facilities for vulnerable road users including pedestrians, people with disabilities and cyclist. Read more

I deeply oppose this bill, especially with bike-lanes being prevented.... This does NOT move ontario towards a more sustainable future and only harms our citizens more. Read more

Please stop this bill! I cycle every day and a lot of my ride is extremely dangerous. Rush hour along Dundas, Queen and DuPont streets are frightening. When there are no parked cars, people drive like they are on the 401. I understand why most people don’t bike. Read more

We need access to more bike lanes to encourage and promote a variety of transportation options in this city. We need safer streets, which bike lanes support. The premier is ignoring the facts.

A Bill like 60 is dangerous and counter productive. Short sighted, short term perceived gains harm our future. Building sustainably, sensibly and resiliently does not happen in a hurry. Rushed projects typically benefit a very small demographic, ones that are already wealthy. Read more

In 2019, nearly half of Torontonians—44%—cycled to work, school, or to run errands. Add another 26% who ride for fun or exercise, and over two-thirds of the city’s residents are hopping on a bike. In neighbourhoods with protected bike lanes, cycling is even more common. Read more

SDG Counties does not support the proposed prohibition of removing vehicle lanes based on provincial regulations. Removing vehicle lanes on municipal roads is a local decision and the proposed regulations add unnecessary hurdles to proper transportation planning. Read more

I am a proud Ontarian who STRONGLY OPPOSES BILL 60. This Bill threatens housing stability by fast-tracking evictions and weakening tenant protections, making easier for landlords to raise rents, and severely limiting the rights to appeal. Read more
