I am so disappointed in the bill's restriction of the ability to build bike lanes. As someone who doesn't own a car and relies on my bike to get around the bike lanes in my city make me feel so much safer and allow me to ride without impeding cars or putting myself in danger. Read more

I take issue schedule 5 that states: “A new section sets out situations in which a municipality shall not reduce or permit a reduction in the number of lanes that are available for use by motor vehicles and makes changes to the related regulation-making powers.” Read more

At this stage, we've all read the myriad studies showing that bike lanes do not increase traffic congestion or cause delays, that they improve road safety, that they reduce emissions and bring more customers to businesses - none of this is new or surprising. Read more

I'm sorry - this is the year 2025, not 1960: a modern city that wants to 1) improve the quality of life for its citizens, and 2) wants to improve transport throughput, would ADD more bicycle lanes, nor remove or inhibit their installation. Read more

I am absolutely outraged by Ontario’s proposed amendment to the Highway Traffic Act that would prohibit municipalities from reducing motor vehicle lanes when installing or marking new bike lanes. Read more

Roads should be for moving people. Whether by car, transit or bicycle. This is 2026 the road is not exclusively for cars. Get parked cars off the road. Those aren’t moving anybody but do not, do not limit movement to vehicle vehicles which often are only moving one individual. Read more

This bill must not pass. This will only exacerbate the current affordability crisis by undermining tenants rights and opening the door to unscrupulous landlords to game a system they were already very good at gaming.
