This amalgamation of all CAs is a great initiative to reduce duplication and for standardisation. However, the consolidated CA should report to the Ministry of Environment. At present, the CAs have no accountabilty to tax payers/clients. Read more

This is just chaos. What we’re looking at it’s the freight train of inevitability…the reality is that this is going to have chaos for the next four years. This is also downloading from the province because that board is going to be funded by municipal taxpayers. LEAVE IT AS IS! Read more

Combining so much down into one system does not improve efficiency. It only makes it hard on the current employees as you now put the tasks of 36 onto 7. That is the equivalency of firing 5 people with full workloads and giving those tasks to 1 person to complete in the same amount of time. Read more

This is a bad idea. Keep things the way they are now so local communities have more of a say in how conservation lands are handled. In many cases these lands were donated. Don’t let the provincial government take control of them. It isn’t in the best interest for conservation.

Not a supporter of this plan. Too much centralization leads to decisions being made that are not in the best interests of local communities. What would be the benefits? If they ain't broke, don't try and fix it.

This proposal puts the few green spaces remaining at risk. This is simply a way to under resource a government body that prevents misuse of public land. This type of amalgamation has been disastrous in health and will be disastrous here. Read more

I am a Dundas native who knows all too well the downside of amalgamation. Each conservation authority knows the nuances of their respective land and are best fit to run it. Our family is strongly opposed.

I would to submit my my opinion in opposition of the the proposed merging of Ontario's conservation areas. In my region, Essex County, we have only 5% of our natural cover left, meaning that 95% has been converted to agricultural, residential, or some other altered use. Read more

As a resident of the Bruce Peninsula, combining my local conservation authority with Thunder Bay (???) is ridiculous. We need more LOCAL control and knowledge not less. Municipal amalgamation 25-odd years ago wasn't a success. We need to learn from past mistakes. Leave the CAs as they are. Read more
