Terrible idea. Bigger is not better. I agree with the comments submitted by the Hamilton Conservation Authority regarding this proposed merger. As a Hamilton resident, I think the HCA does a wonderful job and see nothing in the proposal that would improve on their excellent performance.

As a resident of Thunder Bay and an employee of the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA), I am OPPOSED to the Province’s proposed amalgamation of the LRCA with six other Southern Ontario Conservation Authorities to form the “Huron-Superior Regional Conservation Authority”.

I am highly against this purpose amalgamation. As a long time outdoorsman, hunter, and angler I know how important our local conservation authorities are to presenting our beautiful natural resources. This move ensures I will never vote PC again despite a lifetime of support.

in a similar way to consolidating farms as one big enterprise, you are going to need to invest in much bigger "machinery" to manage this hugely expanded portfolio at the regional level.
