Good morning, I would like to make comment that I do not believe it is a good idea to amalgamate conservation authorities. I really feel that having local and experienced conservation authorities in each area to help preserve nature and the environment.

Locally based decision-making and accountability is important for Conservation! The reason for this amalgamation has not been justified. The HCA is one of the Hamilton City Depts with a positive track record of responsiveness and success.

Conservation Authorities are a valued local presence that provide stewardship, education and oversight within our communities. They use extensive local knowledge and science to guide their programs that provide benefits to all of us through protecting our waterways and lands.

I do not believe that the reduced number of Conservation Authorities will be able to be responsive to local needs. In our area this year, a significant number of residences and farms had their wells go dry while others near rivers were fine.
