I am adamantly opposed to the proposed changes which would see the amalgamation of all provincial Conservation Authorities into 8 regions. I value our Grey Sauble Conservation Authority more than I can begin to say. Read more

I urge the government to NOT merge the Lakehead Regional Conseevatijn Authority with the Huron-Superior authority. We in the Lakehead area are too far from the purposed offices of the merged authority. This would could lead to our area not being cared for as well or as quickly as it should. Read more

I have used Hamilton conservation properties my entire life. The fact that it is locally managed is crucial to its success. It's been successful and the people working on the properties live close by. They can regularly report, feedback, and take ownership over the spaces. Read more

The new proposal for massive Conservation Areas is absurd. How can a Conservation Area that covers 81 municipalities possibly be effective. But, I suspect that is in fact the plan, isn't it? Please reconsider this idea.

Conservation Authorities have been instrumental in protecting local environmental features, at a level of detail that is far beyond the capabilities of a regional structure. The local environment along Lake Erie is vastly different than that of Lake Huron. Read more

I strongly oppose the proposed restructuring of Ontario’s Conservation Authorities. I’ve listened to many arguments against the proposal, including from Tim Lanthier, Grey Sauble Conservation’s CAO, and the executive of the Escarpment Corridor Alliance. Read more

I am a local resident. There has been no clear justification for this proposed amalgamation. The Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) is one of the City of Hamilton’s departments with a strong record of success and responsiveness. Read more

Many of us are concerned. Given the Ford government's track record on Conservation, on transparency, on respect for the environment in Ontario taxpayers we have every reason to be concerned. The larger areas remove the ability for small communities and local engagement to occur. Read more

I am not in favour of all conservation authorities amalgamating. As this will create extra and unnecessary pressure on all staff. The Provincial Government needs to take into consideration their lack of understanding of the conservation authorities roles and positions.

I do not support the proposed amalgamation of conservation authorities, the conservation authorities provide vital services and information to their local watersheds. Centralizing these services will result in a reduction of services for local landowners and potential loss of local knowledge.

I strongly oppose this restructuring of our conservation authorities. Ontario is a vast province with many distinct and unique ecological niches- we need local and specialized authorities to handle the specific local issues. Read more

As a resident of Ontario I fully do not support this proposal. The Ford government's cuts to environmental protections will lead to greater economic costs in the long run. Stop helping out your billionaire friends and actually start doing work that benefits Ontario. Read more

I don’t trust the Ontario government to not try and grab Conservation land to use it for development. This was obviously the plan with the green belts scandal and in my opinion continues to be a threat from this government. Read more
