The consolidation of conservation authorities will decrease the ability of the authorities to deal with environmental issues unique to each watershed and will cause further damages to the sensitive environment. Do not pass this bill

Make improvements should include maintaining the integrity of the water systems and land that drains into the water shed that North Bay and Mattawa is head of. It starts here, clean water is a priority. Read more

The idea that amalgamation is better has been proven tenfold that it doesn’t work. Something as critical as our environment needs to be managed in regional areas. What is needed in GreyBruce, is totally different than what is needed in Simcoe County. Read more

Hands off our conservation lands!! Our tax dollars barely have an impact on conservation authorities within Ontario and somehow this government thinks it has authority to amalgamate them! Each conservation authority understands the topography and environment it supports. Read more

The Ford government should not be allowed to restructure any organization related to environmental protection or conservation. I have watched the NVCA in Essa Township grow over a few decades into a bureaucratic mess wasting tax dollars and charging very high fees. They seem to do things which border on the silly side to bring in revenue and spend recklessly. Read more

Conservation Areas vary drastically by area and municipality. Merging them together would be a terrible mistake that would limit access, shift priorities to larger areas (overlooking smaller conservation areas), and reduce habitat variability.

I strongly oppose this amalgamation of conservation areas. We need local expertise for our unique situations. I see this as a ploy for Doug Ford to place people in the higher positions that will help push through building permits for his friends that could endanger us all.
