I would ask the provincial government to reconsider its proposal to consolidate Ontario's conservation authorities. It appears to be less an effort at streamlining and improved efficiency, and more of an effort to impose a "one-size-fits-all" approach to the complexity of watershed management. Read more

Are you kidding? Each watershed is unique being looked after by Conservation staff in each Authority that is familiar with the area. What has been proposed doesn't make any sense. Another money quest over long term viability of ecosystems that promote health and safety. Read more

I am absolutely opposed to this proposed change for the reasons set out by many conservation authorities in their responses. I think this is the opposite of what is needed. Localized environmental authority should not be compromised by the governments current agendas. Read more

I strongly disagree with this proposed merging process. As a constituent in the effected area(Lower Thames Conservation Authority) I feel the delicate management of the unique biosphere would be jeopardized. Read more

I am very opposed to Ford's plans for the conservation authorities. They are functioning very well as they are. They provide so much for our communities and for wildlife and should be treasured not diminished. Read more

Keep your hands off every tree and living being in the conserved land. Stop extracting from mother Earth as we know that she provides for us and we must provide for her. Not one more tree needs to come down until you have used the land base you have already taken.

While I can understand the thought process behind this proposal, the thing that Conservation Authorities are best at is specialized, local knowledge about their own watersheds, local invasive species, historical flood damage, etc. Read more

What do you see as key factors to support a successful transition and outcome of regional conservation authority consolidation? There are no factors that could affect a positive outcome if conservation regions area made bigger. Read more

I am very concerned about the consolidation of conversation authorities. Different areas have different needs, and I fear we will not be able to give our natural resources the attention they need with such a broad geogtaphical focus. Thanks for your consideration.

It boils down to the provincial PC’s wanting to circumvent conservation measures and environmental protections in order to fast track development of industry and housing. And not affordable housing either I do not support this proposal
