As someone who has lived within the boundaries of several different conservation authorities in southwestern Ontario, I am concerned by the decision to consolidate so many disparate conservation authority offices into such a small number of regions. Read more

I absolutely reject this proposal. From the beginning this province's precious green spaces and conservation areas have been under attack from our premier. Stop threatening our wildlife and selling out Ontario to developers. Get your own house in order first. Read more

This is not going to be beneficial for the municipalities that these conservation authorities oversee. We don’t need a buddy of our premier in charge just so things can get pushed through from afar. Read more

The plan to consolidate our Conservation Authorities is only meant to strip away environmental protections, exclude Indigenous voices, and silence environmental scientists. This is a plan with a focus on builders, profit, and FordNation golden handshakes. Read more

The current government is out of touch with the needs of our communities and with these changes they are seeking to destroy local environmental protections. Stop wasting time and resources with these proposed changes. Each region needs to manage their own area. Stop the over- reach.

I am against this proposed change. Local regions benefit from local knowledge and governance, especially with respect to the environment. This is a step backwards in supporting local-led initiatives.

The north is unique, its topography, geology, geography, terrain, trees, animals, water systems, and weather. The distances are vast. Come visit us by car some time and you'll begin to understand. It would be foolish, dangerous, absurd, and detrimental to join the north with a southern region. Read more

Local oversight on these matters provides the best decision making process. The Ford government is trying to destroy Canadian democracy for their own profit. They must be stopped! The process in place and the required government support should be maintained! Read more

This is not the way forward. Amalgamation of the conservation orgs is simply a way to exercise control and do things that are in the best interest of business and the premier, not the environment. Our ON Premier has clearly not shown that he doesn't care about the environment. DO NOT DO THIS.

I strongly disagree with the proposal of the Ford government to consolidate conservation areas. Conservation areas serve a purpose and have been doing that in their specific areas for decades. Consolidation isn’t necessary unless huge problems warrant the change. Read more
