Why is thunder bay lumped in with the south? shows how much actual thought and planning went into this decision. 7 CAs is not enough to meaningfully cover Ontario. This plus new layers and level of bureaucracy will slow development down. Read more

I'm extremely concerned about this government's consolidation of services and power in their own favour. I live in Hamilton and we have such rich natural surroundings here, with our waterfalls, hiking, waterfront, etc. Hamilton owns thousands of hectares of beautiful land that we all enjoy. Read more

Our conservation areas are distinct to NWO and need our communities to be its custodian . The amalgamation with Huron is short sighted, we will become absorbed and lost . LRCA should remain a stand alone entity as it is many biologically diverse lands distinct to our area. Read more

The consolidation of our Conservation authorities is a terrible idea. Whoever came up with this idea has clearly never worked a day in Water resource management. It will create far more problems than it solves. We will be left with worse services and poorly managed watersheds.

The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority must remain an independent entity. When smaller, community-rooted authorities get absorbed into larger regional bodies, emergency response slows, accountability drops, and crucial local insight is lost. Read more

Ontario government priority is to develop at the expense of nature. This is just an attempt to make that an easier process and it's disgusting. I don't have any suggestions to improve your plan to steal donated land to develop more condos and "luxury" homes.

Ontario cannot afford to go back 50 years in its conservation efforts. Leave the Conservation Authorities as they are and stop building casinos and slowly dismantling public healthcare and education. The people of Ontario deserve a better, healthier and greener future. Read more

Enlarging Conservation Areas puts so much of the fish and wildlife in danger. The work to protect shorelines and sensitive areas will not be done effectively. Putting only money first at the expense of the environment is irresponsible. Read more

Getting rid of the existing 36 locally managed Conservation Authorities in favour of a large Agency overseeing just 7 regions across the province is a bad idea. Conservation Authorities have been around for almost 80 years, allowing local management of local watersheds. It is an excellent model. Read more

This is wrong - amalgamating these vital authorities into vast geographic regions will not save money or resources - these new mega conservation authorities will lack the on the ground and fine grain insight to do the job that needs to be done. Read more
